YES, YES, YES... LIEBERMAN WAS A REPUBLICAN ALL ALONG. DON'T BE SO SHOCKED

>

Bush, Cheney and Rove, all of whom are desperately working overtime to try to make sure Lieberman retains his Senate seat, have long found Lieberman more useful to them as a so-called "Democrat" than he would if he had just switched parties. This way he has been able to offer "bi-partisan" cover for their preposterous judicial nominations and extremist agenda. Even before the advent of BushCo, Lieberman and his vile little mini-me, the slimy Gerstein thing, were providing this kind of cover to Republicans. it always came natural for Lieberman's duplicitous and sanctimonious personality and was front and center on the national stage when he loosened the flood gates of impeachment by denouncing Clinton on the Senate floor and making it look like more than just a ploy by the extreme right of the Republican Party to wreck Bill Clinton's presidency and prevent him from governing effectively. Joe Lieberman, while eventually voting with Democrats, was the single biggest enabler of Bill Clinton's impeachment.

If anyone is still thinking Lieberman is a Democrat, just check out the list of who is supporting Ned Lamont and who is supporting Lieberman at Soreloserman.org. Read why-- in their own words-- Cheney, Rove, Mehlman, Coulter, Limbaugh, Hannity, Kristol, Peretz, Gingrich... the whole cast of criminals who have brought us the past 6 years with the wars and terrorism and economic dislocations are firmly behind Lieberman. And read why solid Democrats and patriotic Americans like Wes Clark, John Kerry, Russ Feingold, Barbara Boxer, Hillary Clinton, Jesse Jackson, Harry Reid, Bill Richardson, Teddy Kennedy, Barack Obama, John Edwards and Chris Dodd are fighting for Ned Lamont.

Oh and you might also want to read this interesting little piece in today's Hartford Courant by Jon Lender. One of Rove's most vicious neo-Nazi attack groups, the Swiftboat creeps, have gotten on board Lieberman's right-wing train. And they're hard at work slandering Lamont and the Democratic Party. What makes the article even more fascinating is that Rove's operative is none other than the slimiest and sleaziest of all the White House apparatchicks, Taylor Gross, one of the criminals who helped Bush rig the Florida vote count in 2000. Think about the irony there! A far brighter Taylor, Taylor Marsh has the full story of Rove's newest swiftboat op.

UPDATE: LIEBERHOUND'S DEMOCRATIC COLLEAGUES ARE FINALLY SICK OF HIS TREACHERY-- AND CALLING HIM OUT ON IT

Cenk Uygur had John Kerry as a guest on his Young Turks show today and his response to Lieberman referring to his and Lamont's position on Iraq as, in the words of Karl Rove, Joe Lieberman and Dick Cheney, "strengthening terrorists," Kerry had a strong reaction. Calling the Lieberhound/Rove "scare tactics" a "disgrace," Kerry said "That is bunk... That is exactly what the Republicans have been doing." Uh... yeah; we've been trying to warn Beltway Dems for a long time what Lieberman is.

And today Alexander Bolton reports in The Hill that Democrats are finally talking about stripping the loathsome Lieberman of his seniority.

Democrats are worried that Lieberman may be giving Republicans a golden opportunity to undermine their message.

"I think there's a lot of concern," said a senior Democratic aide who has discussed the subject with colleagues. "I think the first step is if the Lieberman thing turns into a side show and hurts our message and ability to take back the Senate, and the White House and the [National Republican Senatorial Committee] manipulate him, there are going to be a lot of unhappy people in our caucus."

"Lieberman's tone and message has shocked a lot of people," said a second senior Democratic aide who has discussed the issue with other Senate Democrats. "He's way off message for us and right in line with the White House."

"At this point Lieberman cannot expect to just keep his seniority," said the aide. "He can't run against a Democrat and expect to waltz back to the caucus with the same seniority as before. It would give the view that the Senate is a country club rather than representative of a political party and political movement."

And Bob Geiger keeps on keepin' track. There are now 25 Democratic senators who have announced their support for Lamont, the latest being the very centrist Dianne Feinstein.

UPDATE: MARY LANDRIEU BACKING LIEBERMAN

Mary Landrieu (quasi-D-LA) has one of the worst, most reactionary voting records of any Democrat in the Senate. It's like pulling teeth to get her to vote the right way on anything and, as often as not, she has voted for the worst aspects of the Republican agenda. So why would anyone expect her to back the Democratic candidate in Connecticut? Landrieu is sticking with Holy Joe.

Although DMI rates her an overall "C" for how her votes have impacted the middle class, only 3 Democrats in the entire Senate-- Ben Nelson (?-NE), who votes with the GOP on substantive matters more than he votes with the Democrats, Max Baucus (quasi-D-MT) and Blanche Lincoln (quasi-D-AR)-- had more reactionary voting records than Landrieu this year. She has been particularly horrific when it comes to weighing in on the side of Big Business-- especially Big Oil-- against workers, consumers, and taxpayers (which is the classic definition of a Republican).

Well at least herb Kohl of Wisconsin has come out & said "However, the voters of Connecticut have clearly chosen Ned Lamont to represent the Democratic Party this election year, and Senator Kohl honors their choice and will support their nominee this fall." Good for Herb, but I'm not really happy with how Herb Kohl votes & I hope he retires in 6 years so we in Wisconsin can get another really good progressive democrat in his place. Right now Herb has no real democratic opponent which is sort of sad.
