WOW! WHAT A SORELOSERMAN!!!! LIEBERMAN DISGRACES HIMSELF

>

My friend Glenn just sent Lieberman a letter that sums up how millions of Americans across the country feel now. I hope he doesn't mind that I'm sharing it with you. (He's so polite.)

Senator Lieberman,

Tonight is primary night in Connecticut. I've just heard your non-
concession speech, and I am thoroughly disgusted.

In 2000, you did everything you could to lose the election for your
own ticket -- first, by your appallingly chummy wink-and-nod
performance in your "debate" with the despicable Dick Cheney; and
second, by your rush to throw in the towel in Florida, despite the
fact that your ticket won the popular vote there and nationally, and
in the face of the anti-democratic Republican mob tactics there.

Now, you've lost an election, cleanly, fairly, and decisively. And
what's your response? To spit in the faces of Democrats and the
Democratic Party, by refusing to yield.

You said a few weeks ago that you had loyalties beyond those to your
party. Clearly your only loyalty is to yourself, and to the corrupt
Washington establishment that you so successfully represent,
instead of representing the people.

Do the honorable thing and concede, retire, and just go away.
Enough with your self-serving, egotistical sanctimony.

Sincerely
Glenn xxxxxx
(an American, a Democrat, and a Jew)

My friend Bob, on the other hand, put up a swell new website that lists all the Democrats who supported Lieberman in the primary but who have now abandoned him. As Rahm Emanuel said, Lieberman has been a Bush rubber stamp. He's poison. Only the worst corporate whores and most anti-democratic.anti-grassroots factions of the Democratic Party will stand with Looserman now. Even hardcore conservative Dems like Evan Bayh have rushed to declare they're abandoning him and supporting Ned. Bayh's office announced that "Senator Bayh supported Senator Lieberman in the primary because of his respect for Senator Lieberman's service and their long friendship. The Democratic voters of Connecticut have spoken, and Senator Bayh respects their choice and will support their nominee."

UPDATE: ANOTHER FRIEND, ANOTHER LETTER

This one a friend of mine in Virginia, Edrie, wrote to Harry Reid, the Democratic Party leader of the Senate:

I note with great interest this evening the results of the Democratic Primary in the state of Connecticut. Mr. Lieberman, the current incumbent, has just conceded to Mr. Lamont and has, at the same time, announced that he will run in the general election as a third-party candidate. (I understand he mentioned running as an "independent" but he also mentioned the name of a new party he has established so the 'independent' label does not appear to apply.)

Therefore, may I expect that you will expeditiously act over the recess to acknowledge Mr. Lieberman's party-switch, from nominal Democratic to third-party? Mr. Lieberman is currently the ranking Democratic member of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. This title and its accompanying priviledges and responsibilities should now be assigned to Mr. Carl Levin, Democrat from Michigan. Additionally, Mr. Lieberman is the ranking Democrat on the Airland Subcommittee of the Senate Armed Services Committee; Mr. Jack Reed, Democrat from Rhode Island should be appointed in his place.

Thank you for support of the voters of Connecticut and for the Democratic Party.

Edrie is absolutely right. Now if Lieberman had said he would respect the will of the voters that would be different.

I concur. If the party can't get him to step out then Lieberman should be removed as early as possible from his committee assignments. He has clearly left the Democratic party by announcing a third party affiliation and intention to run against the party nominee.

If the congressional leaders do not act then we should really force the issue and let them know that their own futures are on the line. We can not afford any distractions this election.
