"Some of the rap music and other music is just the most violent, anti-woman, pro-drug stuff that I've ever heard. So three cheers for Wal-Mart," says Lieberman. "There is freedom of speech in this country--we've always said that in our appeals to the record companies to try and clean up their act--and just as there's free speech, in a free market Wal-Mart doesn't have to carry anything it doesn't want to carry, and of course that has an effect because they're such a big retailer."
Some interesting subtext for Lieberman's WalMart presentation tomorrow. Some people (on CT local blogs like MyLeftNutmeg and a couple others) might be pushing to get the Senator to return the campaign donations he's received from the WalMart PAC this cycle.
I saw this Michael Moore bit a week ago on youtube. Phelps is a hateful freak. I always suspect people who are so against gays actually have gay leanings themselves but won't admit it.
I feel the same way about people who want women to be covered and any number of things. I guess they know they can't be trusted.
