[8/6/2011] Sunday Classics preview: Would you want to hear more of this music? (continued)

Composers' "voices" don't come in a single tone-of-voice -- at least the good ones' don't -- but the snippets we're hearing tonight, even though they come from one of our composer's less-known works, seem to me to speak forcefully (I was going to say "loudly," which clearly isn't the case) in his voice.


We're going to start by hearing Excerpt 1 again, which I certainly don't mind, and then in Excerpt 2 it may sound as if we're hearing it yet again, but we aren't -- though again, I for one wouldn't mind.
