ARE YOU GOING TO BOYCOTT ALL THE FILMS THAT MARION COTILLARD IS IN NOW THAT SHE SAID SHE DOUBTS THE OFFICIAL EXPLANATION OF 9/11?

>

I have no idea who killed John F Kennedy. For me the jury is still out. I suspect Rove ordered the murder of Paul Wellstone but I have no way of knowing that for sure; it's just a hunch. 9/11? All I know is that the Bush Regime lies about everything all the time. Is 9/11 the one thing they told the truth about? I can't imagine that they did. So what happened? I guess we'll never know exactly what happened, although we do know who was supposed to be watching the door to the house at the time.

Anyway according to Sunday's Telegraph Oscar winner Marion Cotillard "faces a potential backlash in the US over comments she made in an interview in France.," where she claimed she thinks we have been lied to "about a number of things," 9/11 being one of thing.

I don't get out much and I surely wouldn't have even known her name except that a friend of mine gave me a CD of Edith Piaf songs by Jil Aigrot, the singing voice of Piaf in La Vie en Rose, the award winning movie about Piaf's life that Cotillard, who apparently doesn't have a pretty singing voice, stars in. I decided to do a little music clip for my nightly Crooks & Liars feature and in researching Aigrot I came across Cotillard (and her stunning photo) and stuck her into the clip. The next day she won the French version of an Oscar and it made me look prescient. And then she won an actual Oscar and even I thought I looked brilliant! Turns out she had already won a whole bunch of awards-- a Bafta, a Golden Globe and a César-- but... like I said, I don't get out much.

So back to this backlash. Can you imagine people being angry at her for mentioning-- a year ago-- that we've been lied to. Which people? The 19% of Americans so steeped in delusion that they've convinced themselves Bush is doing a good job? The elderly men sitting around waiting to vote for McCain before they die so they can all scream "Get off the lawn" at all the nation's young people in unison before they blow up the world?

And if pointing out that we've been lied to wasn't enough, the Telegraph exposes her as... and "environmental activist, who once worked as a spokeswoman for Greenpeace."
News of Miss Cotillard’s comments comes at a time when Franco-American relations appear to be thawing, following Paris’s refusal to support the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.

President Nicolas Sarkozy insists that he is pro-American, supporting so-called Anglo-Saxon economic reforms and going on holiday to America.

I am so relieved to know that the British have even stupider mass media than we do here-- or just as stupid anyway. Here's that clip I did of Jil Aigrot singing "Non Je Ne Regrette Rien," Piaf's last big hit before she passed away. Don't worry; you won't miss the Commie, Cotillard. She's the one who would be the last person in the world anyone in their right mind would ever want to boycott.

Wow,

Looks like you're attracting comments from under the bridge.

Keep reminding the trolls about the helplessness of their vaunted leader who sat frozen for seven minutes in a Florida classroom after being advised that our country was under attack.

Or the way that he and his national security team ignored the warnings about terrorists and focused on Star Wars missile systems. Just the week before My Pet Goad, Bush was warned that Osama Bin Laden was preparing to attack, but taking record amounts of vacation and clearing brush was more important than threats to our nation's security.

If you had a record like this, would you be honest about your failure to protect America?

Anonymousie 11:03.
I don't believe anyone but defense contractors and coffin builders likes the Bush2 administration, otherwise, the world feels a lot of sympathy for our mistakes and good (but horribly failed Bush2) intentions.

You other anonymousies particularly French haters, have forgotten who gave us the bikini, monokini, and of course weren't paying any attention in History class. The French financed a young America's Revolution from the British. Thanks. Thanks for this pretty brunette too.
