BUSH JUDICIAL APPOINTEE ARRESTED FOR DRUNKEN DRIVING-- IN FULL DRAG

>

Often Judge Somma wore men's clothing as well

I have nothing against cross-dressers. It's not personally my thing but if it makes someone happy... God bless. Bastions of society's status quo have usually been unkind-- and sometimes quite violent (see "the derivation of the word faggot)-- towards cross-dressers. Yet Hercules, Achilles, Athena, Thor, Odin, and Arjuna all had their cross-dressing phases and even the Catholic Church was always willing to make exceptions, like the endless plethora of "holy saints" in their mythology-- not to mention Pope Joan and Joan of Arc. More recently we've had Eddie Izzard, Kurt Cobain, Pete Burns, Boy George, Marilyn Manson, and Divine.

People have chastised me when Adam portrays Republican closet queens, like Miss McConnell and Larry Craig as cross dressers. He's just trying to make a point about closets and hypocrisy. Adam loves cross dressers; he's from South Florida. Now, you might ask, if you're one of the 26-27% of Americans who still thinks George Bush is doing a fine job acting as president, what he thinks of cross dressers. After all, today we discovered that he appointed one to the Federal Bench. Maybe we didn't give him enough credit! We must ask McCain his opinion, since his biggest claim to the Bush mantle of leadership is a solemn vow that he will appoint the same sorts of judges that Bush has. Let me introduce you to the hastily-resigned Judge Robert Somma, appointed by Bush in 2004. A few days ago Judge Somma's Mercedes-Benz E320 rammed a pick-up truck at 11:30 PM. No one was hurt but the police were called and it was duly noted that the Judge spent a good deal of time fumbling through his purse before finding his driver's license.
"He had a difficult time locating his license in his purse. He passed over it multiple times before removing it," officer Paul J. Thompson wrote in his report.

The officer offered no other details with regard to the judge's attire or accessories. Nor would representatives of the Manchester Police Department or the city solicitor's office, which worked out the negotiated plea agreement with Somma's lawyer.

When authorities removed him from the vehicle, they said he wore a black women's cocktail dress, fishnet stockings and high heels.

...The arresting officer reported Somma smelled of alcohol, slurred his speech and fell backwards against the door frame while getting out of his car.

His mug shot also shows he was wearing blue eye shadow. The judge wasn't coming home from a fancy dress ball or a late season Halloween Party. He had been imbibing gin and tonic as the Breezeway Pub, which advertises itself as "New Hampshire's favorite gay and alternative bar." On the first and third Thursday of every month they have a Goth Night. The Judge is apparently not a Goth fan, but on the second and fourth Thursdays... Kamikaze Drag.

Local news reports mention that Judge Somma resigned after pleading guilty to drunken driving. Other than the gay press, no one mentioned the black evening gown and fishnet stockings.
