Too often when opportunity presents itself, America just shrugs and fails to act, but, sometimes priority meets opportunity and there's never been a bigger priority than removing Trump from our lives. It's good to have priorities, and today is one of those days of opportunity. We can check off one priority, move on down the list to the next one and so on. If only.

As for the never do wells of both parties in a corrupt self-perpetuating system, it's up to each of us to stop sleeping on the Democracy job. Democracy is not an every two year or every four year job. Treating it as such turns it into a farce; the farce that it is. We need to fight the shortcomings and weaknesses of the people on our ballots. They won't. They are almost as lazy as us voters. They have a marked tendency towards corruption and they wear suits like some kind of disguise in an effort to appear "respectable." Democracy is a job for everybody every day or it dies. Politicians need to be harassed daily into the proper action, non-stop and in person, with millions marching and general strikes if necessary. Whatever it takes, or else those who go into politics will be happy to give you even more of what we already have way too much of. FDR famously told the American public to make him be the instrument of change for the better, to force his hand (and give him the ammo). If we don't harass politicians and hold their heads to the fire, and we instead allow them to become the vermin they will become due to their innate greed and a seemingly natural anathema to morality and human decency, well, that's on us. We can't just vote and go away for a couple of years, not when the only people that politicians communicate with are mobster bagmen, of either the corporate or the underworld type.

DREAMS

Yeah, it's all just fantasy. As the great George Carlin once said, to paraphrase, as long as Americans can go to the mall and buy cheap trinkets and crap obesity-inducing food they don't need, they will remain asleep and that's just the way the political class and their masters want it. Pay no attention to the ghoulish cretin behind the curtain. As Carlin said-

It's called the American Dream because you have to be asleep to believe it.

And, as Winston Churchill said, America will do the right thing only after they've tried everything else. In this case, we created this mess over a very long period of time. Fixing it would take genuine education, critical thinking ability, desire, paying attention, and years, many, many years of obstinate behavior and fortitude. Indulge yourself in the fantasy. Our politicians should always feel that we are looking over their shoulders. They should always feel uncomfortable, very uncomfortable. We've coddled them way, way too much for way, way too long.

WILL

It takes a real psychopath like Trump to tell even his supporters that people don't die from COVID-19 as the death toll mounts and the rate of new cases and new deaths increases exponentially. It takes even more of a psychopath to turn people against their one hope if they get COVID; America's doctors and nurses by telling them-

Our doctors get more money if someone dies from COVID. You know that, right? I mean our doctors are very smart people. So what they do is, they say, 'I'm sorry, but, you know, everybody dies of COVID,' but in Germany and other places, if you have a heart attack, or you have cancer, you're terminally ill, you catch COVID, they say you died of cancer, you died of heart attack. With us, when in doubt, choose COVID. It's true. No it's true.

No. It's not true; not any of it. Trump spoke this latest of his lies on a day when there were over 90,000 reported new cases of COVID and reports of 1004 Americans died. That doesn't even count the unreported or undetected. This is how Trump treats our doctors, nurses, and health technicians that are fighting to save American lives in our hospitals while risking their own. He does this even to the hospital personnel who saved his own miserable life. He even adds to his lies by naming the fictitious amount our hospital doctors supposedly get by claiming it's $2000 like it's a bounty; $2000 more for labeling a death as being due to COVID. But, this is the Republican Party folks, always anti-healthcare to the max. This is how the republican mind works. It cannot think of anyone doing anything without finding a way of pocketing a little extra cash, even caring for a dying person or trying to save their life is a prime opportunity to such a mind. Of course, the critical thinking-challenged fail to ponder that fact that, no matter what the patient had to begin with, it was COVID that pushed them over the edge.

Trump has already been busy inciting mayhem and violence. It's what psychopaths do. He's got Don Jr. directing fleets of American Taliban goons and ISIS imitators riding around in their flag-bedecked pick-ups and SUVs, even running a Biden-Harris bus off the road in Texas. One hit a staffer's car. You can almost count the minutes until these freaks kill someone, if not with a car like in Charlottesville, then with an AK-47. There's no telling what Trump will say and do in the coming days, weeks, and months. What past precedent has shown us is that the Republican Party will be right there with him as always.

So yes, take out the trash. Put Trump in that dumpster. Take that dumpster* to a toxic dump, burn it, and bury it, deep. Let the tiny underground things that crawl and slither do their job. They do it better than us. Let's give them the opportunity. And let's have some more dumpsters at the ready.
