'Twas the eve before Halloween...
The year 1816 is known as "The Year Without A Summer." Mount Tambora, a volcano in Indonesia erupted so violently that its clouds of ash filled the sky around the world and blocked out so much of the Sun's warming rays that temperatures dropped, causing unseasonable snows and failing crops that resulted in starvation, exponential increases in illnesses, and poverty all over the world. Businesses failed and people died in horrific numbers. That, of course, was a natural disaster but, imagine a man-made equivalent where a leader decided to not just ignore the disaster but deliberately make it as bad as possible. Imagine that the leader in question took it upon himself to figuratively stir even more ash into the atmosphere. Imagine if you will, that that leader pushed a policy of herd immunity or what he calls "herd mentality." That is a "More illness and death is good" approach. Well, good if you are a murderous psychopath and homicidal maniac.
Right now, we are reaching toward the end of the year 2020. We all know 2020 has been a kind of Year Of Halloween but it didn't have to be the way it has turned out. When we saw the early warning signs as the psychotic orange menace came down his escalator and proceeded to give his nightly mentally ill rants to the multitudes, those were the warning sign rumblings of a human volcano hell bent on destroying everything in his path.

Gee Noah, thanks for the pick-me-up! Not. But a good meme, all the same. Yes, a lot of us feel like we have been living in the twilight zone for a while, 2020 in particular. Trump's deplorables definitely came from there. Hillary was 100% on that descriptive term.
Yes, Trump is destroying the entire nation. The problem is that not only are the "Democrats" not doing anything about this, they are actively helping him.
The obamanation was denied seating a single Federal judge to any bench. He weakly allowed the Republicans to get away with this travesty. Once Trump was empowered, 220 lifetime appointments have been made to ensure that the "Democrats" never again take power effectively. These confirmations were fast-tracked BY the "Democrats", with the merest hint of the advise and consent debates which was their right to demand. Poland fought harder against the 1939 invasion by Germany.
All the "Democrats" do is talk. They have forgotten how to act. They do nothing about the moves Trump is pushing hard to give him the electoral victory. They do nothing about Republican court packing because they are being accused BY these same court-packing Republicans of planning to pack the courts.
The "Democrats" collapsed fifty years ago after Watergate toppled Nixon, made a VERY feeble attempt to turn more "conservative" with Jimmy Carter, then let Reagan steal power and become active collaborators for 40 years.
