How Worried Are You That Biden Would Pardon Trump If He Gets The Chance (God Forbid)?

Someone pulled their finger out of the dike and impeachable offenses are flooding into the mainstream more rapidly that most people can keep track of. Yesterday we saw how Trump and Barr were secretly conspiring to get Australia's very right-wing prime minister to meddle in U.S. internal affairs and then how Barr urged a number of foreign governments to help Trump destroy the CIA and FBI.

Devlin Barrett, Shane Harris and Matt Zapotosky reported for the Washington Post that "Barr has held private meetings overseas with foreign intelligence officials seeking their help in a Justice Department inquiry that President Donald Trump hopes will discredit U.S. intelligence agencies' examination of Russian interference in the 2016 election, according to people familiar with the matter. Barr's personal involvement may stoke further criticism from Democrats pursuing impeachment saying he is helping the Trump administration use executive branch powers to augment investigations aimed primarily at the president's adversaries... Barr has already made overtures to British intelligence officials, and last week the attorney general traveled to Italy, where he and Durham met senior Italian government officials and Barr asked the Italians to assist Durham, according to one person familiar with the matter. It was not Barr's first trip to Italy to meet intelligence officials, the person said. The Trump administration has made similar requests of Australia, these people said."

Meanwhile, as anyone could have predicted, Bolton and his posse are leaking tidbits to further discredit Trump. NBC News reported that Trump's national security advisor, "in his first public remarks since his contentious departure from the White House that he opposed President Donald Trump’s approach to North Korea and Iran as multiple current and former administration officials say he also was at odds with his former boss over a July phone call with the president of Ukraine. Three officials said Bolton argued against Trump calling Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on July 25 because he was concerned the president wasn’t coordinating with advisers on what to say and might air personal grievances. The officials declined to say whether that included concerns that Trump might raise questions about his political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden, and Ukraine. Bolton was among the senior members of the president’s national security team, including Vice President Mike Pence, who did not listen in on the Zelenskiy call, officials said. Now there are growing fears among people close to Trump that Bolton and his allies are poised to inflict the most damage on the president given his unceremonious exit from the White House and how much he knows from his 17 months there... His disagreement with Trump over calling Zelenskiy and delaying lethal military aid to Ukraine shows the clashes between the two of them on foreign policy challenges touched at least three continents."

All this happened before pollsters began reporting that the tide has turned sharply in favor of impeaching Trump and removing him from office. First Quinnipiac released one showing the registered voters are now divided on impeaching and removing Señor Trumpanzee from office, 47-47%-- closing a 20 point gap from less than a week ago. Self-identified Democratic voters by a 90-5% margin say Trump should be impeached. Similarly independent voters are coming around to seeing the inevitable as well. Last week, self-identified independent voters opposed impeachment 58% to 34%. This week, independents only oppose impeachment 50% to 42%. Only 7% of Republicans favor impeachment, basically all the ones who work at MSNBC and their families and friends. Predictably younger voters are leading the way. 60% of respondents under age 35 now say they support impeaching Trump and removing him from office, up from 43% who felt that way in May.

A majority of registered voters approve of the impeachment inquiry that Pelosi finally started in the House-- 52% to 45%-- and that includes a 50-45% majority among independents. Voters also disapprove of the way MoscowMitch is doing his job. 57% disapprove and just 28% approve. 47% disapprove of the way Barr is handling his job and just 36% approve.

Quickly after that, CNN released its SSRS poll, which was even more devastating for Trump and his enabler party. This pretty much tells the story. Voters want him impeached and removed from office and the momentum hs moved rapidly against him.

The poll also showed that 49% of voters believe Democrats want to impeach Trump on the merits and just 38% believe they're out to get him. On the other hand, 42% believe Republicans are defending him because they are willing to protect him "at all costs" as opposed to 43% who think Republicans who are defending Trump are doing so because they actually believe he's innocent. (Won't they look like fools?)
