The Blue Dogs' Ideas All Suck-- Which Is Why Almost No One Follows Them On Twitter

>

There are 27 Blue Dogs in the House. Here's the whole list of them, organized by the number of twitter followers each one has:
Mikie Sherrill (NJ)- 33.2K
Charlie Crist (FL)- 32.2K
Mike Thompson (CA)- 28.2K
Joe Cunningham (SC)- 28.1K
Jim Cooper (TN)- 24.8K
Kurt Schrader (OR)- 24.5K
Henry Cuellar (TX)- 23.5K
Stephanie Murphy (FL)- 21K
David Scott (GA)- 20.7K
Sanford Bishop (GA)- 19.7K
Brad Schneider (IL)- 19.6K
Jim Costa (CA)- 19.4K
Abigail Spanberger (VA)- 18.1K
Filemon Vela (TX)- 15.6K
Ben McAdams (UT)- 15.3K
Dan Lipinski (IL)- 14.3K
Tom O'Halleran (AZ)- 13.6K
Anthony Brindisi (NY)- 11.4K
Xochitl Torres Small (NM)- 10.4K
Josh Gottheimer (NJ)- 9,376
Lou Correa (CA)- 7,963
Kendra Horn (OK)- 7,819
Vicente Gonzalez (TX)- 4,925
Ed Case (HI)- 2,228
Jefferson Van Drew (NJ)- 2,138
Cheri Bustos quit the Blue Dog Coalition when she decided to seek a party leadership position. Now a less radical New Dem, in her heart she's still nothing but a filthy, mangy Blue Dog, the closest thing you can be to a Republican without switching parties.

As you can see, they don't have a large mic when it comes to communication through twitter. The most followers any of them has is New Jersey freshman Mikie Sherrill at 33.2K. All together, the 27 Blue Dogs have 428,049 followers. AOC has 4.65 million followers, Ilhan Omar has 1.12 million, Ted Lieu was 1.05 million, Rashida Tlaib has 562K.

Goal ThermometerThe Blue Dogs' ideas are not popular, which is why so few people follow them on Twitter. In 2010 the Blue Dog Coalition in Congress was all but exterminated. Since then, the DCCC has worked steadily to bring them back, once again putting the House Democrats' majority and branding into very serious jeopardy. So far 7 Blue Dogs are facing serious primaries this cycle-- Dan Lipinski (IL), Tom O'Halleran (AZ), Jim Costa (CA), Josh Gottheimer (NJ), Collin Peterson (MN), Henry Cuellar (TX) and Kurt Schrader (OR). The thermometer on the right makes it easy to contribute to the campaigns of vetted progressives who are taking on Blue Dogs and fellow-travelers this cycle. There will be more as the cycle moves forward but these are the candidates we've gotten to know well enough to vouch for. It's not-- and will never be-- just a matter of getting rid of a putrid Blue Dog. It's always going to have to be about someone replacing them who is worthwhile on his or her own, just like Eva Putzova, Marie Newman, Shaniyat Chowdhury and Michael Owens have proven to be.

You list only 25 names. What about Colin Peterson and Max Rose?

"In 2010 the Blue Dog Coalition in Congress was all but exterminated."

In 2010, the entire democrap party was all but exterminated. The only reason they didn't go fetal and die was because blacks still had obamanation to vote for (and the Nazis picked that Mormon moron) in 2012.

The reason? The democraps' "FDR majority" utterly refused to do a single useful thing with their numbers, admittedly swelled by worthless blue dogs run by harriet reid and ... wait for it... nancy fucking Pelosi.

reid retired and bequeathed the moribund democrap senate to his equal -- scummer, who has managed to lose seats every chance he's had. But somehow Pelosi is still there and she is determined to ride that 737-MAX all the way to the scene of the crash. The democrap party cannot auger in fast enough.
We need a truly left movement instead of that mirage of a erstwhile left party hanging on its reputation from 80 years ago. If the voters won't act to create one, maybe the democrap perfidy will do the job instead. Pelosi is the perfect quisling for the job.

However, if we are to do elections by twitter, it won't matter. I consider a smaller "social media" following actually to be plus. social media is pure evil and is the new opiod of the masses of the dumbest pieces of shit to ever cast shadows on the earth. people who are on twitter should be forbidden to ever vote to select their own political leaders. They'll never ever be any good at it.

In 2008, the Republicants were essentially finished, and obamanation offered them a hand up, dusted off their apparel, then bent over and let then have at him. THAT is why the democraps ended up on the floor only no one was offering the same assistance to them.

Since then, the Supremecist Court has made it unnecessary for an new obamanation maneuver to ever be needed by the Republicants. They won't ever be the minority in danger of elimination ever again.

if the democraps can suck so bad that nobody wants to vote for them, it will either mean the Nazis always win with a turnout of about 40% of all voters, or the vacuum on the left may catalyze a new movement.

It would be very useful if someone with some charisma and a record of progressivism could decide to start that movement.
Bernie could have been that seed in 2016. Looks like his endorsement of the bank whore and party since makes him unable to take up that banner now.
I only see AOC as a potential pied piper now. And she endorsed and is under the boot of the worst democrap ever to pollute the capital... and she is not trying at all to change that.

This will likely be our last charade of an election. If trump wins, he'll find an excuse to suspend democracy permanently after. If he loses, he'll do it immediately and shriek that it was rigged against him.

I firmly believe that history will look back at Bernie in 2016 as being the absolute last chance for any kind of remedy to the 40-year Nazi vector... and he utterly shat all over it.

After trump consolidates his dick-tater-ship, AOC might be the first public execution. If it isn't AOC, it'll be Pelosi. Which is ironic since it was Pelosi that made trump even a possibility.
