Conservative Dems Join Republicans To Take Out Katie Hill

>

Katie Hill-- a target for right-wing Republicans AND right-wing Democrats

When I met Katie Hill for the first time-- a month or so before she officially decided to run for the seat occupied by generally unpopular GOP incumbent-- I was really excited. She said all the right things. Problem, of course, is that everybody has his or her own definition of what "progressive" means. Even Pelosi claims to be a progressive. And from life-long conservative Democrat Joe Biden-- "I'm the most progressive candidate in this race"-- to every slimy Blue Dog with a progressive opponent, it's easy enough to claim your'e a progressive without it even meaning anything substantive. Katie Hill, who presented herself to me as a progressive, was quick to join the Wall Street-backed New Dems; that's not what progressives do. Her ProgressivePunch crucial vote score is 70.0%, a solid "F."

That said, she's been an effective member of Congress for the district, a hard worker and a good organizer. The district has turned blue-- even if none of the numbskulls at the DCCC or EMILY's List understand-- and if they stopped scaring her with there idiotic theories about how Democrats in swing districts have to vote GOP-light-- I suspect she'd be voting better.

On Friday, Ryan Grim and Aída Chávez reporting for The Intercept that the nonpartisan-- but general very anti-progressive-- With Honor PAC, funded primarily by billionaires Jeff Bezos and Howard Schultz-- through the For Country Caucus, is targeting Hill for political extinction. Fellow New Dems-- primarily co-chair Jimmy Panetta (CA), but also Seth Moulton (MA), vice-chair Chrissy Houlahan (PA), Gil Cisneros (CA), Jason Crow, (CO), Elaine Luria (VA), Max Rose (VA) and Mikie Sherrill (NJ)-- are members of the caucus, which is helping conservative Republican Mike Garcia run a campaign against her. Anyone hear a denunciation from Pelosi or Cheri Bustos yet?

"House Democratic leadership," wrote Grim and Chávez, "crafts its entire political and legislative strategy around protecting front-liners like Hill, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently chastised the caucus for criticizing vulnerable front-liners, suggesting they hit her instead. Note-worthy is that all the Republicans in the caucus, particularly co-chair Don Bacon are through and through Trump enablers and Republican Party partisans helping the NRCC target a prime target (Hill). None of the Democrats in the caucus are savvy enough to figure that out. Last cycle the PAC contributed $5,000 to Hill's Republican opponent, Steve Knight. The caucus and its PAC are front groups for the NRCC and for the Republican wing of the Democratic Party and keeps Pelosi and Bustos out of their hair by contributing to the DCCC and directly to Pelosi as well, while they attack Democrats at will.
In 2018 primaries, Crow, Luria, and Cisneros faced progressive primary opponents and won with the weight of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee behind them. They are now linked up with a PAC working in direct opposition to the interests of the DCCC.

...In March, caucus members and the affiliated PACs repeatedly denied the two had anything to do with each other. In an email to The Intercept, the With Honor PAC said they hoped members have the “courage to collaborate across the aisle” and one of the ways they can do that is with a “cross partisan caucus,” adding, “we’re supportive of them doing that, but like I stated, there is no With Honor caucus.”

“The caucus is folks that focus on, among other things, working on policy that promotes public service and just members of the caucus have agreed to a civility pledge to commit to working with integrity, honesty, and drive to find common ground across the aisle. But this is not, this doesn’t have to do with With Honor,” a Panetta spokesperson said at the time. “That’s separate.”

They’re so separate, in fact, that the For Country Caucus is now featured prominently on the website of With Honor Action, which directs visitors to donate to the With Honor PACs.
They keep their membership list hidden from the public but these are the 2018 crucial vote scores for the members we have (along with their grades from ProgressivePunch):
Michael Waltz (R-FL)- 0 (F)
Don Bacon (R-NE)- 2.50 (F)
Jared Golden (D-ME)- 32.50 (F)
Elaine Luria (New Dem-VA)- 35.00 (F)
Conor Lamb (D-PA)- 40.00 (F)
Mikie Sherrill (Blue Dog, NJ)- 52.50 (F)
Chrissy Houlahan (New Dem-PA)- 60.00 (F)
Max Rose (Blue Dog, NY)- 65.00 (F)
Jimmy Panetta (New Dem-CA)- 67.50 (F)
Jason Crow (New Dem-CO)- 67.50 (F)
Gil Cisneros (New Dem-CA)- 70.00 (F)
Seth Moulton (New Dem-MA)- 71.43 (F)

The alliance of those seeking to take down Katie Hill reveals that there is only one party, conceived in cupidity, and dedicated to the proposition that only wealth bestows equality.

Everyone else can go die somewhere out of sight.

Or to put 5:56's fine summation a little differently, it proves that all money is bipartisan.

Or, to sum it up the same way I always do... elect democraps and nothing changes.

"The district has turned blue-- even if none of the numbskulls at the DCCC or EMILY's List understand-- and if they stopped scaring her with there idiotic theories about how Democrats in swing districts have to vote GOP-light-- I suspect she'd be voting better."

1) blue don't mean sentient, clearly.
2) Both the DCCC and EMILY's do understand. they want devoted, promiscuous money whores. they hate everyone else.
3) if your Katie is scared by Pelosi's scare tactics into voting like shit, maybe she shouldn't be a congresswhore. I dunno, but shouldn't a congressperson vote her, what's the word... FUCKING CONSCIENCE?!? Maybe FORCED party unity is a big part of the problem in this shithole. (then again, maybe she really is shit.) maybe that's why I always point out, accurately (never been proven wrong yet) that the democraps must be electorally euthanized before we will ever have a chance to de-stink the shithole.

on to the next "let's rearrange the deck chairs on the titanic so it won't sink" article.

@8:51 pm
What you're saying implies the old "Let the Republicans run everything for a while and a REAL left party will rise up in opposition to the utter disaster that will follow" nonsense. You've got to have a better plan than that. Right now, money is the issue. If the Democrats go away, whatever replaces them will be just as reliant on money and therefore, just as unresponsive to the general needs/wants of voters. There are also very significant questions as to what exactly a new national progressive party (though I am not sure that's what you actually want) would look like and who they would appeal to. Many white Americans simply lack the basic ability to see themselves as having common interests/needs as people of color. So unless you're advocating for the creation of a new progressive party with implicitly racist underpinnings, I fail to grasp what it is you're expecting to follow the demise of the Democratic Party. Just once, I'd like you to START a post explaining what happens after the Dems are euthanized and where we go from there. As for the general repetitive/unproductive aspects of this blog, you show up every day and on almost every post make the exact same point over and over with absolutely no constructive solutions presented. You cannot be so lacking in sentience to see the problem there.

I love how race is dragged in when it isn't part of the process said commenter decries. Yet another factless Party hack.

My advice is to not look under your bed. Your fears are very dusty.

3:07, I feel you. Keep in mind that if voters euthanized the democraps, the "movement" that filled the void would NATURALLY be more responsive to those voters' needs, knowing that if they were not, those voters would tend to euthanize THEM as well.

I disagree with your racial epithet. The vast majority of whites who are that racist are already gleefully voting for Nazis and trump.

If you want a picture of what happens AFTER voters suddenly got a lot smarter, I'd look back at what happened between 1856 and 1860 when voters sacked the Whigs and elevated Republicans over slavery. Keep in mind that even back then, most northern whites did not like blacks, they just loathed slavery.

I'm keenly aware of the following:
1) voters like you are too terrified of Nazi rule to ever stop voting for democraps no matter how horrid they become.
2) voting for democraps, therefore, is voting to NOT EVER change... anything.
3) Germany. 1932. the Nazis NEVER won an election. But an opposing coalition refused to thwart them. lookie what happened there.

We can continue our slow devolution toward a true full-blown Nazi shithole with zero push-back by democraps; or we can try something different.

Me? I vote Green/Socialist to try something different. You? I'm suspecting Nazi shithole.

Hey Green voter is this what you're referring to about the Dems you're not wrong about your logic with the current corporate crop in the party. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=le_nu6ant1g

6:28, pretty close. Cenk is even naive about it. He seems to think that a corporate democrap congresswhore can be a "lovely person" and a corporate whore (thus, indifferent to the interests/needs of his constituents). That's horse shit.
He did use the word 'gaslight' a lot.

But he's even more naïve fundamentally than this. He fails to mention that individual democrap congresswhores are irrelevant. The chamber caucuses are ruled tyrannically by Pelosi and scummer. when they have a majority and CAN affect useful/progressive bills, the party never does. why? because they cannot be brought up in their slave committees nor on the floor for a vote. because the tyrant holds absolute power over what can and cannot be done. Look at what mcturtle has done in the senate -- imagine scummer thwarting everything the same way.
look at what Pelosi did 2007-2011 and 2017 to now. mfa? gnd? closing concentration camps? where's the political risk in closing the fucking concentration camps ferkrissakes.

wherever there is profit to be made, Pelosi is all in. and that includes concentration camps.

If AOC is impotent to affect change, who the fuck could be?

And Bernie? He's been in the congress for how long? Has he done mfa or gnd? He already had his chance. He shat all over it.
