Midnight Meme Of The Day!

Yep. Ms. Betty Bowers nails it as usual: In the Republican Mind, you shouldn't be forced to bake a cake for a gay couple's wedding but an Alabama woman can be forced to deliver a baby sired by a rapist or her own father or brother. The new Alabama abortion law is a very good example of Republican sharia law. Alabama repugs want no abortions unless, maybe, the woman's life is in danger. No abortions, even for rape or incest, but we all know that Republicans don't consider rape and incest to be so bad now, do they. They've showed us that side of their "morality" so many times, whether it's their "legitimate rape" comments or, more recently, the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings. Kavanaugh, was, of course, confirmed by the Republican majority in the Senate, and now Kavanaugh has a vote on the Supreme Court.

the visual should include nancy Pelosi and chuckie scummer with their backs turned.

nobody would understand it... but it would be quite appropriate.

obamanation and congress had numbers to reinforce Roe in 2009. But as with everything, they refused to do shit.

And here we all are now.

6:24, It's fun to play alternate history but the action you suggest would have resulted in republican state legislatures doing what they are doing now back in 2010, 2011, and 2012. That would have happened even if the democratic reinforcement you suggest had been tested in the courts or not. A side benefit to the republicans would have also likely meant four years of Sarah Palin yapping from the pulpit of the vice presidency. A pleasant dream for you but not for America. Once in a while, those who write the laws pay heed to the limitations of our legal system. In this case, we end up in a same place, different time. Mankind is bigly flawed.

6:24 should go back and review the lack of democraptic action since Watergate. It was Republicans who pushed Nixon from power, and he had already put the democraps to sleep with his Law And Order bullshit. Carter only won the nomination because the Party was already backing away from actually ruling like the majority party because they were afraid of what that power entailed. Party passivity and Carter's incompetence handed power to the GOP, who has yet to worry that they just might lose it. After all, obamanation didn't do a damn thing that they haven't or won't reverse.

Great point 6:24 and I like how Mr. Democraps always checks back to see if anyone has noticed him and his "pearls of wisdom." His mania and his ego won't let him be anything but what we all see. You could save your breath next time. He'll avoid your point again by going off on another rambling tangent. I'd love to see his twitter account. It probably reads a lot like Steve Bannon's or even Trump's.

Let me know if you can even FIND my Twitter account, Loser Langley! I'm sure that the DNC would throw in an extra handful of stale kibble in your bowl tonight if you succeed.

What you see has no basis in reality. Just because shrooms will be legal in Colorado soon doesn't mean you get to begin celebrating now.

Now go back to sleep. We don't want you to burn out what little remains of that thing you think is a brain.

To 7:44 and 8:04, you make valid points. However I look back to the last time the republic was going down like the titanic (1932). We elected FDR and Democrats not because we knew who they'd become but because they were NOT hoover and the republicans who got the blame for the crash and depression.

But FDR and the Democrats acted decisively and quickly and got results. Their efforts did not go unnoticed by voters and they enjoyed mushrooming success at the polls for over a decade because of it.

I fantasize about obamanation and our current democraps having the same epiphany that clearly struck in '32, acting progressively and rapidly, and having those efforts appreciated by voters such that a true left could enjoy a long run again and the usa could have had a kind of renaissance.
Of course I know that southern states would resist. But even in '33-'52 the south came around for the most part after seeing how things like the TVA and REA had helped.

As such, even when Eisenhower was elected, he didn't immediately repeal any of the "New Deal" because that would have been political suicide (he also knew that the New Deal helped him win that little skirmish in Europe and the Pacific).

Maybe if obamanation had put bankers and torturers in jail, broken up the TBTFs, actually HELPED the 10 million homeowners and losers of middle-class jobs, disengaged from Iraq and rebuilt it instead of helping create ISIS, made Roe a federal law, made marriage equality a federal law, made pot federally legal, started that GND "manhattan project" to wean us from oil, passed MFA and given everyone actual, you know, health CARE... who knows whether voters would have responded by showing up at a much higher percentage to say thanks...

Maybe we're too far gone for this to happen again. But we'll never know if all we ever get is obamanation's "hope and change" cartoons and nothing real.

IF FDR had been obamanation, we'd have fallen to the AXIS by the time of 12-7-1941. maybe then Yamamoto wouldn't have had to raid Pearl after all.

Nice to see Rich back to pitch one of his hissy fits. Consistency is reassuring.

Richard - please continue your attempts to make sense of the resident "democrap". He or she is so tiresome and ruins everyone else's day by the ridiculous rants written every damn time this blog is produced. So sick of even seeing his offensive messages and wish he would just go somewhere else to annoy other bloggers.
