Remember when Donnie Sleazeball said he would shake up Washington? Well he has but he's done it by being the biggest, most festering, most virulent tumor Washington has ever had. Donald Trump is the essence of the worst things about Washington. I look at him in the White House and I see the most evil, disgusting looking, most cancerous tumor in our history, expanding and puffing up, filling the entire expanse of the White House. The White House begins to creak as the roof and walls stretch and warp vainly attempting to accommodate the expanding mass. The nails begin popping and the paint peels just from the fumes of the stench of Trump. Finally, the windows all shatter and the whole building explodes in a fetid orange goo. I can see Mitch McConnell desperately spooning up as much of the goo as he can in order to sell it as a new Eau de Republican perfume. I can also see Mike Pence out on the White House lawn rubbing the goo that was once his idol all over his body.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? She's a breath of fresh air. Republicans are obsessed with her. The Democratic leadership fears her. Both resent her presence. They like things just the way they are. They only think about themselves. Their whole lives have been dedicated to not revealing who and what they really are. That's the essence of politics. They hide behind their suits and ties. That's their robes and hoods. They don't want you to see that who and what. They got so bad that, when someone came along and honestly spoke her mind without artifice, they freaked out. She seems alien to them. They long to turn a firehose on her right on the floor of the House Of Representatives. They may crush her. They surely want to. But, they are fools, every bit the fools they always seem to be, if they think there won't be more like her following in her footsteps. Blaze that trail AOC. Blaze that trail.

It's nice to see a positive midnight meme on AOC, who genuinely seems to be a true progressive. I believe that your readers will appreciate midnight memes like this one. Many readers will also appreciate highlighting what's become of today's Democratic party establishment.
agreed. good meme. though for some reason, you wrote the exact proof of my continued thesis that the democraps are never going to be the answer, in spite of AOC.

I will repeat that AOC in congress in 1960 would be a run-of-the-mill liberal notable only for her boundless beauty. She stands out in stark contrast to 275 (of 282) of congressional democraps today. SHE illustrates just how miserable that shit party has become.
That SHE so clearly illustrates this and that so few voters actually see the illustration is proof that this shithole is destined to die. Democracy can neither work nor be fixed when so many are so fucking stupid.

I like what AOC has been doing, and wish more progressives of the new freshmen class were doing even a fraction of what AOC has done. They aren't getting the media coverage of AOC, so there is no good way to tell if the others are doing anything of consequence as we were built up to believe they would.
I for one would love to see regular updates on what the progressives are doing, even if just listing relevant headline links. Once a week would be helpful. We need to know that someone is doing something positive lest more people like Buckeye Tim Russo abandon the effort in disgust.

I believe they do know that there will always be a stream of AOCs trying to enter the fray and make a difference.
But the PARTY (defined as the corrupt pols and the money who owns them) has proven resilient to them for the most part. They buggered Bernie with zero consequences (he still endorsed and campaigned for HER and is still running as a democrap). AOC's primary win was probably shocking to the PARTY, but they also realized that it was a big anti-red year and they were sure to have to assimilate a number of actual progressives in order to get their numbers up.
Most of the "better" rookies have toed the line enough -- handing Pelosi the gavel and passing paygo. The rest of this congress they merely have to mute their rhetoric while Pelosi and her cabal of committee chairs totally control the debate/dialog to serve the donors and fuck the voters (who else they gonna vote for). Any who fail to tone it down enough will be defeated the same way Bernie was in their next primary (with a lot of money and/or a lot of electoral fraud).
The task of the PARTY is to restrict the flow of others (in AOC's footsteps) to a trickle until they can dam it up permanently. we'll see that dam in effect during the next NON-anti-red year.
