Here’s how to define Donald Trump: Trump is the intersection where all the con-artists, sleaze-bags, petty criminals, anti-democracy thugs, white evangelical losers and delusional racist fanatics on the planet met and fell in love with each other.

From the backward woman-torturing murdering Saudi “prince” to Putin (the world’s sleaziest loser/murderer Trump fan), to the National Enquirer national head lice, to evangelical gay-bashing loons Mike Pence, Jerry Falwell Jr., Franklin Graham and Ralph Reed-- Trump sucks up to the creepiest creeps on the planet.
Meanwhile, Republican lawmakers side with Trump: climate change is a fabrication and nothing matters but the ruthless extraction of fossil fuel energy. Trump is doing exactly what Republicans want him to do. Thus in 2020 saving the planet and destroying the Republicans are the same thing.

But maybe just maybe the attempted blackmail of Bezos will be to Trump what the Watergate break-in became to Nixon-- a “minor annoyance” that became the major unraveling. Here’s hoping for the sake of our planet!
Trump will regret the day he was stupid enough to become president. His unexpected, undeserved, absurd ascent is delivering long-overdue accountability for him and his sleazy associates. And that is going to be the history books’ final biblical-style-justice word on Trump’s fall.

trump has nothing to do with the death of humankind on the planet. He's nothing more meaningful to any random lesion on someone dying of leprosy. He's a symptom.
Humankind SHALL die within the next century or, at most, two. Climate change will never be addressed. The most action by humans will be who engages in wars against whom and how efficiently they commit genocide. But none of those wars will do anything but postpone the deaths of the winners a few years.
People, generally, are far too stupid, greedy and hateful to EVER come together and remedy anything this serious and global. And far too many "leaders" invoke their religious delusions as an excuse to do the 'easy' thing and just maintain the status quo -- especially since most of them make a tidy living in that status quo.
Irrespective of the inevitable human dynamic that will prevent any remedy (which has proved itself over and over in the past 2 decades), it's already too late. The system of forcings and consequences is resonant. The system is already running away. Humans would have to stop all burning of fuels today, start resequestering carbon by the gigaton PER MONTH and allow 5-6 billion of us to die within the decade to have any kind of chance at even treading water. NONE of those things will happen. It's already too late.
