Midnight Meme Of The Day!

>

by Noah

Sunday Thoughts:

Well, sort of Sunday thoughts. I haven't used a clip for the Midnight Meme Of The Day very often but tonight's meme is based on the biblical story of a wall, the wall that once surrounded Jericho to keep it safe from undesirables and other foreigners. We all know what happened to that wall in that story. In fact there's a song about the wall and how it came tumbling down. The Parody Project has, as you can see and hear in the clip, adapted the tale to our modern times. Enjoy!

I find myself curious about why no one connects Trump's Monstrosity to Reagan's call to Gorbachev to tear down the walls of the Iron Curtain. While freedom from Hispanic immigration isn't necessarily the exact match for preventing people from leaving Russian occupation, both walls represented a barrier to the free movement of people. Yet Trump vellows to put one up just as loudly as Reagan called for one to come down. I guess that American Exceptionalism is again at the root of the idiocy.

I doubt that the current leftist regime in Mexico is Communist, and they don't seem to have done a whole lot once they attained power in their last election that should threaten Wall St. Government statistics alone show that Mexicans aren't all that interested in coming to stay, dropping by a factor of ten in twenty years. By now, they have to know that if they just wait, American capitalists will bring the jobs to them. How's that Ford F-150 you're driving? That Carrier AC unit in your window that was once made in Mike Pence's home state of Indiana? So many good-paying American jobs have gone to Mexico that they don't really need to come here. The enemies of the American working class are their allies and will provide.

As other commenters here state frequently, Americans are as ignorant as the bricks the First Dotard wants them to send to Chuck and Nancy. The Powell Memo is not a secret document, and has been available for anyone to read. No one wanted to admit to themselves that the Memo was a call to action by the corporations against the people. "No one would EVER do that to us!" - until they did.

It's way too late to do much about this now. Many of us are going to be too busy figuring out how we are going to survive in the coming dystopia.

4:22, I've posted the contrasting quotes here often. DWT, for whatever reason, sees no point in pursuing it.

Reagan: "tear down this wall"
shitstain: "we're going to build a great wall"

To me, it's the ultimate illustration of the hypocrisy of conservatism. It paints American magats with the same brush as stalin.

Oh I get it. trump -- Russia. goodness. I see it now.

BTW: after recent marches, it looks like the red maga hats are going to be our brown shirt uniforms.

another historical parallel that nobody could possibly understand because americans don't know shit about history.

memes based on allegory now? are we out of real-life stuff to use?

the ACTUAL berlin wall came down. maybe that would have been a better way to do this.

I take your point, 9:33. Sundays are all about the imaginary fairy shit.
