Hypocrisy On Parade!
I love it when politicians and assorted buffoonish miscreants such as Señor Trumpanzee's new bestie Sean Hannity get tripped up by their own words. It's conceivable, of course, that some Republikooks like Hannity, who long for the world to go back to the good old days of 1200 A.D., momentarily forget that we have such a thing as film, but dear Sean does make his living on TV so maybe it's just a massive shortcoming of his mental processes and abilities. More likely though, it really just comes down to it all being an example of his extreme arrogance and his contempt for his audience. He knows how, as his idol would say, "low IQ" they are. He knows that, like any reptile, they only think in the moment and will cheer whatever spew comes out of his orifices at any given moment. Also, Hannity knows they are lacking in the ability of critical thinking, and they won't bother to check what he speaks, not that they'd want to. Besides, they have a now built-in defense mechanism that protects them from the real world. They will look at this clip and see it as "Sorcery!" "Fake News!" "Fake News!" It's what they do now. It's who they are, and they walk among us. Back in 1200, we might have attributed the reactions of Trumpies to bread mold, parasites, or just consumption the wrong mushrooms, but now we have critters like Hanntity.

Republican voters don't care. They just don't. They have no clue about history and WW II let alone whatever huge discrepancies have been on Fox News the last few years. Half of our country's population is fascists who have zero regard for the truth, knowledge or science. We have lost all semblance of what the Great Generation was. Separating children from their parents with the claim that hey are going to have a bath has shades of taking a shower in Nazi camps.
I am going to Normandy on vacation this fall to see what fighting fascism really looked like. We are becoming our own worst enemy, and the world's. The November elections will be CRITICAL.
Hone, as you look over the vast graveyards in France, ponder that there were germans like you back then. There were not enough and a good number of them were purged. And they would never have fixed their own society. EVER!
Now we are them. And there are not enough of us. As Niemoller reminds us (those of us who aren't southern white moron ignoramii), though we are not currently being purged, it can and probably will happen. And we'll never fix our own society, provided we insist on refusing to rid ourselves of the democraps.
For evil to flourish, you cannot have its enemy be its ideological near equal. Evil cannot be waited out. It will never peter out on its own. It must be crushed, with extreme prejudice.
Evil will never be defeated by just a tiny bit less evil.
Fascism is the inevitable outcome of unfettered capitalism. Greed demands more and more, and eventually all of the easy pickings have been taken. In order to feed the greed, what remains must be taken by force, and those who oppose this harvest must be dominated.
There are two basic outcomes of this situation: one is for greed to take everything so that no one has anything. The other is that the entity driven by greed doesn't see a greater threat arriving on its doorstep until it's too late to do anything about it.
Either way, it will fall. Hard.
Yes, and both fascism (which can also be the outcome of an unchecked power grab with the help of money) and unfettered capitalism only happen when nobody and nothing "stands athwart and says no". BTW: they can and have, in this case, occur more or less independently or concurrently.
In this verified and certified shithole, both occurred because the "opposition" party had the same greed and nearly the same lust for power AND, more importantly (during the period where it was possible), voters refused to make the "opposition" care about them.
The late, great Molly Ivins called the US a "corporate oligarchy", Mussolini's definition of fascism, back in the mid '80s. Reagan, backed by the money and moneyed in '80, won and inspired bill fucking Clinton et al to jump into the fascism pool with both feet. Reagan, with bipartisan support from the 'craps, then set unbridled capitalism loose upon the land, which was what he ran and won on. The last exec who tried to restrain capitalism was Carter who started the AT&T breakup. All since have stepped aside as capitalism ate everyone in the way.
This Irish immigrant son Hannity has made a fortune in lying to the American people but the low ebb of his career began when he became Donald Trumps pussy!
