Why Does The DCCC Suck So Bad-- So, So Bad?
>
You can't imagine how absolutely horrible the DCCC is, from top to bottom. The corruption that defines the institution alone makes it next to impossible to wish them well. And their incompetence-- and inability to learn from mistakes-- are even worse than their corruption. But I do have to give them credit for something: they've figured out exactly why people should support them: "the other guys" are worse. And that's really the heart of the DCCC strategy: persuading people that as bad as they are, the Republicans are even worse. Which is true. The DCCC deserves an "F" but the NRCC and the House Republicans... an even lower "F." And who, exactly, makes decisions like this-- and gets away with it?
It's a contest you get to vote on for a new DCCC sticker. So sad, so, so sad. A top House staffer told me that "This is political malpractice, plain and simple, especially on a day when the House and Senate DPCCs (Cheri Bustos, Hakeem Jeffries, David Cicilline and Debbie Stabenow) are pushing stories in Politico about a unified Democratic economic message. Compete fail. And people wonder why their crappy candidates never win. Wonder who makes these horrible decisions? Well Pelosi and Hoyer run the show but the chairman is ethics problem-child Ben Ray Luján (D-NM) who boasts a "D" rating from ProgressivePunch. What about his team? Here's the brain trust... with their current ProgressivePunch ratings:

Today's NY Times editorial about the need for the Dems to move to the center was totally wrong and quite annoying. A lot of the comments, including mine, are negative. If the DCCC keeps listening to jerks like Penn they will continue to lose.
For all the evolution deniers out there: 'Incentives' are a form of selective pressure. In American politics, money is the incentive which selects the candidates for office. Years ago, select Democrats chased and caught the big money bugs. Over time, these money bugs have limited their spending on those venal enough to do their bidding. It is long past time to introduce a different selective pressure into the political system. Some good places to start would be increasing transparency, campaign finance reforms and better electoral representation reforms.
Skep's got it but stops short. Hone is still a ways away.
Their corruption and ineptitude are not separate issues. They are yin/yan of their fidelity to their donors.
They feed off the money and do the money's bidding with pure fidelity.
As such, they CANNOT function as a party of the 99.99% and have not done so in decades. They CAN still function as a party of advocacy for forward social change, but they are even far too circumspect there, as they continue to yearn for the racist/Nazi voters with HS diplomas or better.
The ONLY way to deal with the democraps is to:
1) admit to one's self that they are purely corrupt and will never, ever not be so again.
2) deny all democraps the benefit of your vote (except a very small number of good people, starting at Lieu, Jayapal and MAYBE Warren; no, not Bernie. He's not helpful at this point in spite of his national DNC tour to bitch about health care).
A side note: Do not take the report card on those DCCC elites as gospel. Remember that the democrats are irrelevant and can propose lege (that won't ever be voted on), advocate policy (to deaf ears of the R majority) and actually vote on stuff in line with what the party of FDR would have done. As we saw in 2009, when actually in power, none of these fine ideas was considered as they served their donors and ratfucked the populace.
The only grades that should count are what they "earned" in 2009-2010.. and even the house during that stretch was able to "ACT" better because harriet reid had the senate ratfuck all their useful bills and amendments... as was the design.
OMG! I love the bumper sticker: "We win moral victories, not elections".
They should have had a contest. My submission would have been:
DEMOCRATS
WE SUCK a little LESS
Seriously, why don't the Dems listen to Lakoff? And there is a guy in NC running for Congress, Christian Cano, who is almost as good as Frank Luntz.
The DCCC (and DSCC and DNC and...) suck because 65 million morons continue to vote for their charlatans in spite of lies, betrayals and ineptitude... because back in the '30s democrats were their party and they did good.
This stopped in the early '80s when Clinton formed the DLC which murdered the Democratic party and created the brain-eating zombie democrap party.
