This is another installment in our occasional series "The Clinton Server Story for Progressives." Sorry to bring this news to you via a right-wing source, but for some reason, it's not appearing in more mainstream outlets. Yet the gist is simply a report of something said by White House spokesman Josh Earnest. (I'm editing out the right-wing cackling in the piece, to leave just the factual parts.)

An hour later the White House says she's being criminally investigated by the FBI (as opposed to undergoing a "security review," as Clinton has previously characterized it). And Obama assures us that the intersection of those two facts — the endorsement, the investigation — don't affect each other in any way. Which means, if you think it through, that the investigation didn't affect the endorsement.
Barack Obama's spokesman described the FBI's probe into Hillary Clinton's classified email scandal as a 'criminal investigation' on Thursday, less than an hour after the president endorsed his embattled former secretary of state to succeed him.

Josh Earnest told reporters during a White House press briefing that Obama was committed to keeping his hands off the investigation, trusting career investigators and prosecutors to follow evidence wherever it leads.
'That's what their responsibility is,' Earnest said. 'And that's why the president, when discussing this issue in each stage, has reiterated his commitment to this principle that any criminal investigation should be conducted independent of any sort of political interference.'
Just reporting it. Also, I can report that Bernie Sanders is still in the Democratic primary contest.

Whatever the accurate name of the process occurring at the FBI, Obumma will quash it, if FBI, after its investigation, presents anything beyond asking for a block of choice tickets to the coronation in January 2017.
As I have mentioned previously: After Congress appointed Ken Starr, it "allowed the 'independent counsel' provisions of law to expire. Upon the expiration of the law in June of 1999, no new 'independent counsels' or 'special prosecutors' may be appointed (by congress) ... The Attorney General retains the general authority to designate or name individuals as 'special counsels' to conduct investigations or prosecutions of particular matters or individuals on behalf of the United States."

This puts the decision to indict HRC into the hands of the president who just endorsed her,via his Attorney General.
If there is a theory on how the GOP-controlled congress can effectively intervene, I'd be delighted to read it. Yes, the law allows congressional REQUESTS for independent counsel but any such requests would be met with a heretofore unseen barrage of media/WH/HRC-campaign howling about "cheap political stunts."
Whether the GOP-controlled congress would bother is another question. As president, HRC would do essentially nothing legislatively to upset the GOP and 4-8 years of beltway kabuki ostensibly battling her may be seen by GOP leaders as a convenient way to reassemble the party after the Herr Hair whirlwind.
I doubt Obumma called Sanders to the White House to encourage him to stay in the race because indictments were imminent!
Finally, of course, IF indictments should derail the quest of the Generalissima-to-be, then the real possibility exists that the corrupt Dem establishment that shepherded her through the unconscionable ordeal posed by that effing SOCIALIST Sanders would plop in a substitute like Biden.

Irrelevant. Obamanation will NOT indict his (donors') hand-picked heir to the sham of a throne. Get over it already.
However, if $hillbillary wins the WH, the R house SHALL impeach. It's gonna happen. And $he'll deserve it.
