Missouri: It's Limbaugh vs McCaskill

>

Monday we wrote about the Republican War Against Women and against women's reproductive health, in terms of the insanity we're hearing from Rush Limbaugh, one of the front men for their demented party. Needless to say, most normal women-- and men who support their role in society-- have been mortfied and disgusted. Yesterday a Democratic woman with whom I rarely agree on anything controversial, Senator Claire McCaskill, sent me a campaign e-mail responding to Limbuagh's and the GOP's attacks. It was McCaskill's mother, Betty Anne, who wrote the letter and she asked, rhetorically, "Who are you calling a 'slut' or a 'babe'?"
Rush Limbaugh has never been someone I paid much attention to. But you can't call my daughter, or any woman, that!

When Rush Limbaugh attacked my daughter and law student Sandra Fluke last week, I saw red. I feel for that young lady's mother. But I bet she's proud of her daughter's willingness to stand up for her rights.

I have been working for women's rights all my life, and brought up my three daughters and a son to believe that every human being deserves respect, dignity, and equality.

And at 83, I can honestly say that I've seen real change when it comes to women's rights. But in the last few weeks it has become obvious that some want to walk back the progress women have made in this country.

Rush Limbaugh and his out-of-control nasty mouth is part of the problem. But it is much bigger than even his mouth.

Please don't let the Republicans have their way on this. Don't let them wage war on women.

Limbaugh called Senator McCaskill a “commie babe liberal.” McCaskill's Republican opponents, Sarah Steelman and John Brunner, are both pushing for Limbaugh to be included in the Missouri Hall of Fame, and call anyone who opposes that move, including Senator McCaskill, "intolerant." McCaskill is a little conservative for me, but if you want to combat the Republican War Against Women, please consider contributing to the campaigns of progressive Democratic women running for Congress, like Darcy Burner (D-WA), Patsy Keever (D-NC), Ann Kuster (D-NH), and Franke Wilmer (D-MT). Or if you want to see a less conservative Senate, there's Elizabeth Warren and Tammy Baldwin.

The truth is the republicans love Obama and other right wing Dems like Mccaskill. They are doing this to scare wesser ebil votes, and most of you fall for the trick everytime!

Wrapped In a flag, carrying a cross - to burn in someone's yard. It's time the hatemonger lives on his investments and keep his mouth shut. We got a break from Imus for awhile, the country needs one from Rush and everyone the sounds like him.
