Sunday Classics preview: Finally we're back where we started in Act III of "Tannhäuser"
>
YouTube poster Pamilearner plays an abridged version of Charles de Janon's guitar transcription of "O du mein holder Abendstern." [UPDATE: Much as I love Bill Moyers, I don't know how he slipped in here. The clip was right originally, and here it is again.]

We began the first preview of our Tannhäuser series by hearing where we were going to wind up in this week's concluding third part: at Wolfram von Eschenbach's grim death watch over his beloved Elisabeth and the beautiful romance in which he prays for the release of her tormented soul. Then in part 1 we focused on the Song Contest of Act II, before harking back to Act I in part 2.
So after the click-through we're going to start tonight's preview in the same place, then make a mighty leap -- well, back to the same place.
