Endorsements In South Florida Make Sense-- But Who The Heck Is Bernard Sansaricq?
>
Mon. Sansaricq knows where Barack Obama was born
Yesterday the Miami Herald started making endorsements. They picked Joe Garcia over sleazy Republican woman beater David M. Rivera, a no-brainer, since they've investigated all the documentation of Rivera's serial criminal behavior. They also endorsed Ron Klein against crackpot teabagger/libertarian Alan West who, they pointed out, has a "bombastic style [that] includes inflammable rhetoric, such as calling his opponents 'Nazis.'' He wants to repeal the healthcare reform bill and replace the income tax with a flat tax." Given the state of today's GOP, though, is calling someone a Nazi a slam... or a compliment? Boehner has donated thousands of dollars to elect that Iott guy who dresses up as a Waffen SS officer and has been on TV defending them as typical of right-wing defenders of freedom and liberty (just the way Boehner does with the GOP-- and largely with the same sick rationale).
Anyway, none of that was in the Herald's endorsement and what caught my eye when I looked over how they picked Garcia over Rivera and Klein over West, was how they also included an endorsement of Alcee Hastings over Republican Bernard Sansaricq in a race that hasn't gotten much national attention. Hasting's district (FL-23, a gerrymandered South Florida district that gathers up as many African-Americans as possible east of the Everglades and west of the ritzy beachfront properties) has a PVI of D+29. Obama won the district with 83%, his second-best showing in Florida... and Hastings won reelection with the same percentage. This time the GOP has put up the former president of Haiti's Senate.
Sansaricq comes from the Haiti ruling elite and his idea of freedom and liberty is identical to Boehner's, the GOP's and to Iott's explanation of the SS's dedication to those lofty ideals: the freedom to prey on the weak and vulnerable in society and the liberty to exploit everyone. He fits right in. And, just like Iott, Boehner has doled out some of the shady corporate cash he's collected to him, $4,500 to be exact, Mon. Sansaricq's biggest single contribution (of the $73,409 he's collected)-- though Boehner's smallest to any Republican running for Congress. At this point Sansaricq has a mere $1,041 in his campaign account so he could sure use some of those bribes China and India are paying Boehner to push policies that send American jobs overseas.
Anyway... long story short, an acquaintance of mine who's involved with the extreme right-wing political action committee, the Patriot's League, fed me a copy of a questionnaire Sansaricq filled out when he was soliciting their endorsement. Reading the answers helped me understand why the Herald thought it was so important to warn South Florida voters to turn out for Hastings. Here are some of the questions and answers with comments in Mr. Sansaricq's own handwriting. The first one starts with a question about Medicare:
Q: Should we end all government health programs, because they are unconstitutional?
A: YES! Government has no business being in health care. This is for communist countries like Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela, etc...
Q: Should the liberal media be prevented from criticizing Sarah Palin unfairly?
A: YES! Sarah is a great leader and should be respected by all.
Q: Should every school day begin with a Christian prayer to God?
A: YES! We have to put prayers back in our schools.
Q: Should public school students be taught that the Book of Genesis explains how God created the world?
A: YES! A must to have better citizens that will respect the laws in our books and the laws of God.
Q: Is liberalism a form of fascism?
A: YES! Liberalism is fascism.
Q: Was Barack Hussein Obama born outside the United States?
A: YES! He was born in Kenya.
Q: Is Barack Hussein Obama a Muslim?
A: YES! No doubt at all about that.
Q: Is Barack Hussein Obama a Communist or a Fascist?
A: BOTH! If we allow him, he will turn this country into a socialist country and will change our constitution.
Q: Is Barack Hussein Obama a racist?
A: YES! Definitely
There's much more equally insane right-wing drivel, standard fare among the teabagging imbeciles who have taken over large swathes of the GOP. The Miami Herald sees this kind of stuff and sounds a clarion call to its readers to vote for Alcee Hastings. John Boehner sees it and writes the guy a $4,500 check. Of course he gave career criminal David M. Rivera a lot more than that, as much as he gave the GOP Nazi guy and attempted rapist Tom Ganley, his two Ohio buddies.
Labels: crazy extremists, Florida, Rivera, Sansaricq

I always love how right aligned wingnuts declare that their opponents are somehow simultaneously communists (hard left) and facists (hard right). Extra points for calling social liberalism facism while demanding restrictions on freedom of speech. This guy is a class act.
