Ed Schultz gets it-- really gets it. Debbie Wasserman Schultz doesn't. Her goal is to spend tens of millions of dollars of DCCC money on helping shore up the sagging electoral fortunes of a gaggle of anti-Choice, anti-gay, anti-healthcare Blue Dogs whose base has no interest in supporting them in November. Real Democrats don't want to support reactionaries like Bobby Bright, Travis Childers, John Barrow-- who lost the biggest county in his district (the one whose election officials he couldn't buy off) by worse than two to one in the recent primary against a progressive with no money at all-- Frank Kratovil, Stephanie Herseth Sandlin and Walt Minnick. But that's where DCCC money is going this year. Big Ed has a fighting spirit and he understands where the money should be going. Watch the video above; he explains it so simply that even Wasserman Schultz and Chris Van Hollen could probably understand it. Maybe even Tim Kaine... maybe.
Big Ed liked our BeatBoehner billboard and TV ad. And we like his framing... a lot. Why can't the DCCC, demoralized, clueless and on the verge of losing its ass, dump Wasserman Schultz and let Schultz run the operation! There's nothing I have to even write about this. Schultz says it all-- everything! It's a 13 minute clip and there's not a minute of it you should miss. Ed's intro, Howard Dean's insight and Justin Coussoule's national TV debut are absolutely essential viewing.
Watch it and then consider helping us keep the ad on TV or even moving it from cable TV to broadcast TV. We spent almost nothing on making the video. Had it be made by some Inside-the-Beltway consultants that the DCCC hire, it would have cost $40,000 to make. We didn't spend $400. Every cent we collect on this page will go to keep the ad on the air. If you contribute to the DCCC, most of the money goes to help Blue Dogs and the rest goes to line the pockets of well-connected consultants. Everything you donate through Blue America goes directly into the candidates you decide you want to support. Not a nickel for Blue Dogs and not a nickel for consultants.
