Righteous Indignation-- Or Psychosis?

>

Is your brother-in-law a teabagger? He might be interested in discussing this. It was originally posted on Rosie O'Donnell's blog as a response to all the anti-Obama email she gets.

You didn't get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President.

You didn't get mad when Cheney allowed energy company officials to dictate energy policy.

You didn't get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed.

You didn't get mad when the PATRIOT Act got passed.

You didn't get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us.

You didn't get mad when we spent over 600 billion (and counting) on said illegal war.

You didn't get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in  Iraq.

You didn't get mad when you found out we were torturing people.

You didn't get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.

You didn't get mad when we didn't catch Bin Laden.

You didn't get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.

You didn't get mad when we let a major US city, New Orleans, drown.

You didn't get mad when we gave a 900 billion dollar tax break to the rich.

You didn't get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark.

You finally got mad when the government decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick. Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, are all okay with you, but helping other Americans... oh hell no.

You nailed the short list; no time for the whole thing.

The Tea Pity Party is a good description, I think, for those clueless pathetic hypocrites.

Let's be honest--it started before the health care issue. It started for most of them when a man of color became the President.

Why would you care about my brother inlaws sexual practices?

That said, I think if you look beyond your nose you will find a lot of the things you listed made Tea Party Members mad as well.
Next question: when was the war declared illegal?

The more the Government "gives us" the more freedoms we lose. Think about it. You just invited your Congress into your bedroom.

This was NOT written by Rosie O'Donnell! It was posted by "walldude" on democraticunderground.com in August of 2009. Rosie couldn't write her way out of a paper bag!

PLEASE don't let the falsehood that Rosie wrote it be continued!

Just to clarify, nobody said that Rosie wrote it, only that it was posted on her blog.

Yo, Tea Partier! The war was illegal in the GLOBAL sense that Bush couldn't wait for a pending UN decision for the US to enter/INVADE Iraq. Google it or something.

ScotterOKC, you're right. I just got upset when I saw that, because I really believe people should get proper attribution when they write something, and so many people on the Internet don't bother doing so. Also, I'm not looking forward to getting a zillion emails with people telling me she wrote it. Then I have to disabuse them of that. Thanks for making your point, though. ;-)

Yucky Ducky wrote "The more the Government "gives us" the more freedoms we lose."

"Losing freedom" is *not* about what "Government gives us". Get a grip on reality. There are some things government must do or the system fails for everyone (or most everyone). The whole really is greater than the sum of the parts ... there are emergent properties that are not properties of the parts. For what government needs to do see "Invisible Hand Drops Ball & Economics 101" on my site.

And "conservatives" don't understand the concept of "freedom" at all. See "Freedom? Liberal vs. Conservative" on my site: Conservatives and libertarians have a limited, and therefore false, view of "freedom". They see those who understand the need to use government to improve peoples' lives as "socialist authoritarians." Such distorted thinking would similarly call gardeners, "socialist authoritarians" comprising a "socialist mob". That's just plain crazy.

The UN did declare the war illegal at one point.
