Pat Toomey To Challenge Arlen Specter?

>

Although Michael Steele has been busy in the last few days trying to get someone to listen to him saying that he's the real spokesperson for the GOP, not Limbaugh, it wasn't that many days ago that he was threatening to finance primaries against three mainstream Republican Senators who haven't bought into the Obstructionist vision thing.

Apparently Steele's babbling has encouraged extremist loon Pat Toomey, who knows he wants to run for something but isn't sure what, to declare that primarying Specter is “now back on the table.” (A few weeks ago it was off the table and he was determined to run for governor of Pennsylvania.) With 66% of Republicans preferring that Specter be replaced as senator, his best shot at re-election at this point would be to return to the Democratic Party-- if they'd have him (and my guess is that they would. He's probably at least as "progressive" as PA quasi-Democratic Congressmen Chris Carney and Jason Altmire).

Wrapped in the flag, you say? Have you SEEN how many flages are behind Obama every time he speaks? I think Sinclair had it right. Statists and fascists are all of the same ilk.
Specter could have made himself a key to effective compromise, could have aided in cutting much wasted spending in the stimulus, and could have solidified his position - he chose instead to sell out, both sides of the aisle. Would the Democrats really want him?
