President Obama Explains Bipartisanship To Republican Dunderhead Joe Barton Of Texas

Joe Barton (R-TX) is a longtime obstructionist blowhard who showed up at President Obama's Fiscal Health summit to whine about Nancy Pelosi not coddling his crazed reactionary caucus enough and asking the president to make her be nicer to them and listen to their failed disastrous more-of-the-same approach to the problems they caused. If you've been following DWT with any regularity, you know we've been less than delighted with Obama's post-partisan approach, which, so far at least, has just resulted in giving way to Republican demands, at least in the House, and getting nothing-- zilch-- in return. Today Obama, elegantly, slapped Barton down good:

"On the one hand, the majority has to be inclusive. On the other hand, the minority has to be constructive... What you should see, i think, is the majority saying 'what are your ideas?' The minority has then got to come up with those ideas and not just want to blow the thing up."

Of course with Obama's approval ratings countinuing to show a great deal of robust and widespread confidence-- and with even most Americans backing him on the Stimulus bill the GOP has worked so hard to demonize-- he can afford to slap around a buffoon like Barton now and then. Watch:
