Absolutely Delusional

Click photo to help gage the popularity of the Bush Regime in Africa

I guess the same way Bush has avoided reading newspapers that involve anything he's involved with, I've gone to great lengths to avoid watching Bush when he's on TV. His moron's voice is like fingernails on a blackboard to me and usually, if I wander into a room with a TV that he's on, I turn and walk away. This morning I didn't turn; I was too aghast. I only watched 10 minutes or so but I was flabbergasted at what I heard. Has he fallen off the wagon again? This guy is utterly delusional-- with the kind of 50 foot steel perimeter around him that xenophobes and racists would like at the Mexican border-- or his handlers have been really successful at keeping reality completely at bay. Turns out, the brief part of his press conference I watched-- a question from the Washington Post's Michael Abramowitz and the ensuing rambling, self-justifying rant-- was the highlight of the event. Watch the segment for yourself. The part I'm referring to starts at 1:32:

I left home at an early age-- hitchhiked to California from New York when I was 15, stowed away on a ship and continued traveling-- and living-- all over the globe. (The motto at my travel blog is from Herman Melville: "I love to sail forbidden seas and land on barbarous coasts.") I have watched over the past 8 years as the high esteem and prestige with which my country-- and it's citizens-- were held by people in every corner of the world, has plummeted-- in some cases plummeted to such an extend that it had become dangerous for Americans. I just came back from Mali and while I was there I ran into some Peace Corp volunteers who told me that two-thirds of the country-- including Timbuktu-- was deemed too dangerous for Americans to visit. I visited and they wanted to but couldn't.

Today Dan Froomkin pointed to a survey from Pew on global attitudes about America in answer to Bush's delusional raving. Despite his sociopathic remark that positive feelings for America have only fallen among some elites-- "It may be damaged amongst some of the elite, but people still understand America stands for freedom; that America is a country that provides such great hope"-- the kind of hard data that the Bush Regime has always feared and discounted proves that since Bush took over the White House, favorability ratings across the globe have plunged for our country. Examples from Bush's first year to his last year:

Britain- 83% to 53%
France- 62% to 42%
Spain- 50% to 33%
Germany- 78% to 31%
Poland- 86% to 68%
Turkey- 52% to 12%
Japan- 77% to 50%
Indonesia- 75% to 37%
Brazil- 56% to 47%
Mexico- 68% to 47%
Argentina- 50% to 22%

Two countries where the favorability rating has increased should give scant joy to anyone paying attention. Fascist-trending dystopias Russia (37% to 46%) and Nigeria (46% to 64%) feel relatively comfortable with George W. Bush and what he's peddling. Bush made a point about how loved he is in India and Africa. The Indian elite is pretty pro-American and likes Bush-- after all, he gave them nuclear technology that a more level headed leader would never have agreed to-- and African elites may like him too, although I just came back from Mali (see photo) and whatever people thought of Bush, they were over the moon about Obama. Virtually every bus, taxi and truck in Bamako, Mali's capital city, had a U.S. decal on it and even in remote villages far from roads people were positively reverent about Obama. I swear I saw more Obama/Biden stickers in Mali than I did in Los Angeles! In the photo above we had just given a 4 pound container of GNC Pro Performance Weight Gainer 1850 to all the women in a small village way off the beaten track (we were lost). We showed them how to prepare it and told them it was a gift to their village from Obama. They seemed shocked, then overjoyed-- and sent runners to the surrounding villages to come have a look.

With the exception of a few countries ruled by renegade regimes like Sudan, Iraq, Algeria and Cuba, the overwhelming majority of people from every nation in the world were rooting for Obama, primarily because they believed that McCain would mean 4 more years of Bush policies-- and 4 more years of lies and distortions from the White House. Let's hope Obama can live up to the hopes the whole country and the whole world have for him.

I can't agree with you more on your point about the happiness people of other nations feel about President elect Obama.
I'm living in China right now and 95% of the people that I talk with congratulate me(us) on electing Obama to office. He has one hell of a mess to clean up.
Bush and Cheney should be brought before a world court for their crimes against humanity

You heathens, Bush bashers, he was the greatest president ever to live! This blog is the worst left leanin tree huggin blog I have ever encountered. This blog is almost as evil as the Mormons, one day Bush will be remembered as the hero he is! - Pastor Bob Minister of The Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Church.

"Hallelujah!"

Dear Pastor Bob. It takes a religous person..i.e. some one used to believing in superstitious ideas...to believe Bush will be redeemed by history someday. Notice only the really right wing nut jobs still think Bush is doing a good job, kust because they were told to believe it by their religous leaders. They are sheep and can't think for themselves.

first of all, let's drop the spin, and after your head is clear, then we talk. i, to this day, don't understand how white amerikkkan's could even let themselves be represented by this moron. it is clear as the nose on your face, this idiot maintained the same trademark thru out his entire term, total incompetence to the point of criminal negligence, being surrounded by other morons disguised as right wing bigot's. as a child i was raised in the projects, where we had white folk of all persuasions. the one's i remember most were the hillbilly's. a hillbilly was known for many admirable traits, they were unbelievably stubborn, and they were fiercely patriotic. but none of them were ever known for being smart. (I KILT A BAR, ON THIS HAmilaseR TREE) (DANIEL BOONE). I WAS TAUGHT THAT IF YOU HAD TO FIGHT A HILLBILLY THE NEXT DAY, TO BRING YOUR LUNCH, CAUSE HE WAS GOING TO BE THERE ALL DAY LONG, HE WASN'T SMART ENUFF TO KNOW WHEN TO LIE DOWN. to me george has shown these same qualities in every action he has or has not taken. so i'm just glad OBAMA got in, not that i expect much, this is amerikkka. to me george is just TEXAS TRAILER TRASH, and i'm just glad they got him out of there before he had a chance to put wheels on the white house.

I'm not sure why so many people hate Bush, or know why they believe they hate Bush. Bush has been a typical US president.

He typically invaded a country of the so-called THIRD WORLD, to take their resources and humiliate their people. This is typical behavior.

He borrowed and spent against future generations of the US creating and keeping the myth of the so-called business cycle going through inflation/deflation while making sure to leaving a recession for the next guy to take office. This is typical.

The divide and conquer European foreign policy we've had in the Middle East, using Israel and the jews as a wedge issue to taunt the remain Arabs who haven't started buying US debt, into a conflict as to justify the violent overthrow of their state. This is typical.

He blatantly abused his power and authority, as all states do, and YOU all thought by electing democrats would put an end to what is occurring, yet to your surprise nothing happened and many people began to the see the Democrats and Republicans are both complicit in the crimes of the Bush administration. This is typical.

So, you must be wondering, why all the outrage?

It's the internet stupid. Bush is the first president whose administration ruled the empire with an iron fist and we could watch every detail, almost immediately online and offer our feedback. This sort of feedback did not occur under any previous administration.

Now what do you think will happen to the internet? Well, the Congress has launched it's propaganda wing on YouTube in the past few days and tighter restrictions on content allowed to viewed by us human cattle that our elected mafia harvests production from.

The job of the government is not to serve you, but to keep you producing for your owners/masters.

YOU HAVE NO VOICE AND NO ONE CARES IF YOU DON'T LIKE BUSH, THEY JUST WANT A WAY TO KEEP YOU QUIET. THAT'S WHAT THIS MEDIA IS.

OBAMA WILL ALSO BE A TYPICAL US PRESIDENT.

WAKE UP AND DEMAND FREEDOM!!!

What a load sh, I can't tell if you are that stupid or part of the Rove history re-write.
Clinton reduced the deficit and left a surplus. Republicans have been spectacular at running up defense spending/pigs at the trough porkfests so they can cut social programs

Bush2 is the end of the Republican party.

Pastor Bob is Chuck"Bob" Colson of Watergate specialist fame off his meds but on topic.

I cannot believe the degree of HATRED,for another human being,
our President, whom they do not know, their is no substance to their argument, just a hatred that
borders on a disease.
To think he protected their cowardly behinds, I don't think they do not know his record, just coping all the other lefty pimps, that spend their time on hatred of this country, and a President, that they could not shine his shoes, as far as decency and morals.
