ANTI-WORKER REPUBLICAN PAC FINDS A DEMOCRAT THEY JUST LOVE! WANNA GUESS WHO?

>

Union-busting PAC endorses its first "Democrat" of 2008

The Business Industry Political Action Committee (BIPAC) started in 1963 and has the slogan "Electing Business to Congress." It is funded by executives of special interest corporations like Exxon Mobil, Caterpillar, Halliburton, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Verizon, W.R. Grace, the National Beer Wholesalers Association, Goodyear Tire, Southern Co, Rolls Royce, Occidental, Data Recognition Corp., HSBC, Kinsey, Intel, Weyerhaeuser, Boeing, General Motors, Devon Energy, Blessing Petroleum, Sun Microsystems, etc. In 2006 85% of their donations went to Republicans. The only exception in the Senate being the most conservative Democrat in that body, Ben Nelson. Every single one of their Republican Senate candidates lost.

So far this cycle they donated to 7 reactionary House candidates, 6 Republicans and one quasi Democrat. Their first 4 choices were John Gard, an extremist trying to take on Wisconsin progressive freshman Steve Kagen (again); Sydney Hay, an ultra reactionary looking to replace indicted Republican crook Rick Renzi in Arizona; Steve Stivers, the wingnut trying to hold OH-15 for the GOP after the retirement of Deborah Pryce; and the far right Albuquerque sheriff and Bush-Cheney die-hard, Darren White, running against Martin Heinrich in NM-01.

Yesterday the PAC announced it is throwing it's support to two more right-wing Republicans and a right-wing "Democrat." They are donating to former Kentucky Rep. Anne Northup, who is back to challenge John Yarmuth who beat her last year; Chris Hacket a millionaire self-funder in Pennsylvania who is challenging Chris Carney (which is odd since Carney exactly fits the kind of "Democrat" they like); and-- speaking of the kind of "Democrat" they like: John Barrow, the Democrat who votes more with the GOP than any other Democrat in Congress. They are petrified that he could lose to Regina Thomas. We should make their nightmare come true.

UPDATE: REGINA CAME OUT SWINGING IN STATESBORO

Regina cornered Barrow in Statesboro Wednesday night and cleaned his clock again. He continues to try to deny his own rubber stamp voting record while she calls for real action to end the war. He uses all the slick GOP/Blue Dog talking points for making warmongers appear to want to end the war while continuing to vote for it. She is plain spoken and direct. "I say we need to bring our troops home." And Georgians need to bring John Barrow home where he can't continue voting for George Bush's policy agenda.
