NOAM CHOMSKY ENDORSES JOHN LAESCH

>

Chomsky gets it right-- unlike Rahm Emanuel

Like I said last week, there is no political campaign coming up this winter that is more important than the race to replace Denny Hastert in Illinois' 14th congressional district. The Republicans can be counted on to nominate a far right extremist. On February 5, Democrats are choosing between a real progressive fighter, John Laesch, and a puppet of the Insider special interests, a wealthy Rahm Emanuel shill named Bill Foster.

I got an insider tip that in a week or two John Laesch, who has been endorsed by virtually every Democratic Party county chair in the district-- as opposed to the Washington Insider crowd looking to install Foster-- is going to get a major Illinois endorsement. Today, however, he got two other endorsements-- one that was expected and one that was unexpected and very interesting. Late in December PDA, Progressive Democrats of America had endorsed him (unanimously). Today the campaign announced that the national PDA also endorsed John. It makes sense because he's the progressive candidate in the race and the reactionary and Establishment forces in the Democratic Party have been trying to undercut him.

But the Noam Chomsky endorsement, which is logical, was certainly not expected by anyone.
Noam Chomsky was an unexpected and exciting endorsement for us. One of our volunteers, a big fan of Chomsky, took it upon himself to email him about the race and give him some information about John. We were very pleasantly surprised to see that Chomsky responded, stating he would be "pleased to be listed as an endorser." We are pleased to add Chomsky to our growing list of progressive luminaries, including Studs Terkel, Barbara Ehrenreich, Dr. Quentin Young and Mike Malloy.

Perhaps this moves you to reach for your credit card and help John pull this off? You can do it at the Blue America ActBlue page.

UPDATE: DFA IS LOOKING FOR GRASSROOTS ALL-STARS

You can vote here. John is on the list of nominees as are several other Blue America candidates (although Donna Edwards isn't). The major endorsement I was mentioning for John will be announced on Wednesday. This trumps-- big time-- whatever shills Emanuel manages to round up for his Blue Dog hack.

Hello, I might be blind today, I couldn't find an email address for you on your site. I was wondering if you might look into Ed Fallon for an article for a "Better Democrat". I just recieved an email with his announcment, and he is a tried and true progressive who has always worked outside the corporate system. He is planning on running for Iowa's 3rd district. Thanks!!

A bullet for John and I'm in on ActBlue.

Hopefully there won't be much left of the IL14 Republican org after Oberweis and Lauzen finish shredding each other.
Another Hastert legacy of failure.

IL 14 HAD ENOUGH? Hastert DESERTED you!

Time for a real Veteran, (I might add the ONLY
Veteran running in the primaries).
John Laesch!

Not a smart move. Chomsky is not well liked in the Jewish and Pro-Israel communities - which have a huge percentage of the Democratic party for the last 30 years.
Being associated with Chomsky makes the candidate look bad - and lacking judgment. Do you know the things Chomsky has said that can now be used against the candidate?

Gotta pander to them Zionists!
Look on the bright side, if the Republicans can persuade people Laesch is anti-semitic, he might get the Ron Paul vote. I hear they're good fundraisers.

An endorsement from Chomsky will work only in the bluest of the blue Congressional Districts. Anyone from Moveon.org, Hollywood, the progressive blogs, or academia would do well to stay away from Districts that are either a tossup or Republican in nature, which IL-14 tends to be, at least historically.

Oh Please, you Anonymousies. So Bold.

Like the elder Bush's didn't make their money selling steel to the Nazi's, and W wasn't just sucking up TODAY to the same country that TRIPLED the price of oil ON HIS WATCH for a FUCKING SHINY medal. (No Saudi hand holding on camera, or is that with the lights off?)
Plus did our president REALLY just sell smart bombs to the same country that MOST of the 9/11 terrorist held passports from? HELLO!
