LARRY CRAIG HAS CHANGED HIS MIND... AGAIN
>
Another delusional Republican mind-changer?
Larry Craig's Chicago rent-a-wife's children were on Good Morning America and they were sure to say that the old man who pays the bills for their family could be gay or straight or anything else and it wouldn't matter to them at all. "They also said in the six-minute interview that they were also disappointed with how Craig’s fellow Republicans had so little loyalty for their father, who pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct last month after he was arrested in a June sex sting in the bathroom of the Minneapolis airport. Craig announced Saturday that he would resign Sept. 30."
Craig married their mother in 1983, acquiring a readymade family, right after he was accused of molesting underaged male pages. You would never know that from watching CNN, would you?
When Diane Sawyer was interviewing them they didn't know that flighty Larry was changing his mind-- not on his guilt or innocence again-- but on his resignation/non-resignation. I just heard the Senator give McConnell and the rest of the Republicans who are so, so, so eager to sweep this whole thing under the carpet as fast as possible, heart failure. He's now saying that he might not resign after all. I say, "You go, girl!" Slate says he's stalling in order to give Gov. Otter a chance to find a suitable replacement. Sounds a little naive, don't you think? Others think it's to better his pension position, also naive.
Craig didn't show up at the post-vacation Senate session today. Apparently Arlen Specter called him and convinced him to reconsider his decision to resign, infuriating McConnell and Ensign and the whole pack of Republican hypocrits who are tripping all over themselves to hustle Craig off centerstage. "Craig has hired a high-powered crisis management team that includes Martin; communications adviser Judy Smith; Washington attorney Stan Brand, a former general counsel to the U.S. House; and Minneapolis attorney Tom Kelly."
Labels: gay Republicans, Idaho, Larry Craig

I hope he keeps them dangling for weeks so that the Craig story is the top story on cable news. The longer it stays around, the more that the Repugs will be associated with hypocrites and sleazebags.
But, Lisa, what about the nice speech the Bush Regime wrote for General Petraeus to read to Congress next week? Do you think cable TV can keep talking about Larry Craig picking up toilet paper in the stall instead of Petraeus lying about the Iraqi escalation.
I hope Craig assumes a wide fighting stance and resists a quiet exit. If you're gonna go down, I say go down swinging.
Craig is already stepping down and not fighting at all, which is not surprising. The Republican party has been taking such a heavy beating these past few years that the pressure to resign must be immense.
As much as I like seeing a hypocrite being surfaced, I do think that seeing the government try to rosy up a dismal war is far more entertaining.
Delicious.
