WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HATE SPEECH AND THE SENSELESS RANTINGS OF SUPERSTITIOUS MADMEN?

>

No, not Little Bo Beep; this is a crazy hate talkin' bigot

Today's Sunday Telegraph carries a story about their god threatening to punish and destroy people because of society being too modern and tolerant. It sounds like a bunch of vile old child molesters inciting hate and bigotry-- i.e.- Religion. And not even some kooky Baptist sect! These loons are from the Church of England, a relatively respectable outfit, and they're screaming about floods, gays and the wrath of god. Most sane people laugh this kind of nonsense off-- until we read about the next victim of gay bashing.
One diocesan bishop has even claimed that laws that have undermined marriage, including the introduction of pro-gay legislation, have provoked God to act by sending the storms that have left thousands of people homeless.

While those who have been affected by the storms are innocent victims, the bishops argue controversially that the flooding is a result of Western civilisation's decision to ignore biblical teaching.

The Rt Rev Graham Dow, Bishop of Carlisle, argued that the floods are not just a result of a lack of respect for the planet, but also a judgment on society's moral decadence.

"This is a strong and definite judgment because the world has been arrogant in going its own way," he said. "We are reaping the consequences of our moral degradation, as well as the environmental damage that we have caused."

It's 2007. Is there a reason for Society to put up with this vicious, anti-social behavior? Dow, a hate-filled bigot, should probably seek psychological counselling to get to the root of his homophobia and dementia. His rantings sound like a desperate plea for help. "We are in serious moral trouble because every type of lifestyle is now regarded as legitimate. In the Bible, institutional power is referred to as 'the beast', which sets itself up to control people and their morals. Our government has been playing the role of God in saying that people are free to act as they want," he said, adding that the introduction of recent pro-gay laws highlighted its determination to undermine marriage. The sexual orientation regulations [which give greater rights to gays] are part of a general scene of permissiveness. We are in a situation where we are liable for God's judgment, which is intended to call us to repentance."

This sick and evil man, running around in a long gown and crown and claiming authority over others based of superstitions derived from Bronze Age myths, doesn't even know his own silly book of fairy tales. Didn't Genesis 9:11 establish once and for all no more floods?

Meanwhile Tony Blair is stll sharp enough to call Muslim religionist believes absurd although he tried to carefully make it seem that he wasn't talking about the religion itself-- which he was, whether he knew it or not. Today's Guardian reports on a TV show scheduled for tomorrow, The Last Days of Tony Blair in which he says that "It's not just your methods that are wrong, your ideas are absurd. Nobody is oppressing you. Your sense of grievance isn't justified."He offered the overthrow of the Taliban in Afghanistan as an example since British Islamstis are always whining about that and he wants to know why the religionist kooks "claim that Afghanistan's Muslims are being oppressed when the Taliban 'used to execute teachers for teaching girls in schools. How are [we] oppressing them? You're oppressing them when you support the people who are trying to blow them up.'" But that's their absurd, murderous, hate-filled religion-- no less ansurd, murderous and hate-filled that your own.

Is it time to dump all these ancient and putrid Abrahamic myths? Long past time. And now that more proof is on the table that there are intelligent beings on other planets, it's just a matter of time.
