MORE TROUBLE FOR THE HORRIBLY TROUBLED NORM COLEMAN
>
Plastic surgery worked wonders for the deformed Norm Coleman but his politics are still as ugly as ever
When I talk about Norm Coleman I come from a unique perspective that no one else in the world can claim. Norm and I were co-secretaries of our elementary school class in Brooklyn (PS-197). He was a dick then too. He doesn't stand for anything and doesn't believe in anything-- except for his own career advancement. He's just a typical, garden variety Inside-the-Beltway null. Minnesota is a Democratic state and Coleman should never have been elected-- especially not to fill the seat of Paul Wellstone; what a disgrace-- and what an example of Republican corporate media manipulation!
Since then Coleman has been trying to be the good little rubber stamp and ingratiate himself to the Bush Regime. Until recently-- when he woke up one day (oh... around, November, 2006, when he saw right wing congressloon Mark Kennedy go down in flames when he tried bouncing his way into Mark Dayton's open Senate seat). That's when Coleman-- not unlike Sununu (NH), Collins (ME), and Smith (OR)-- realized that if he was going to trick any low-info independents into thinking he's a moderate or an independent voice, he'd better start doing something moderate or independent. Problem for Coleman is that when Cheney growls at him, he craps his pants.
So his record is still quintessential rubber stamp Republican. But not rubber stamp enough for the hard core bigots and nutcases who own the GOP. And told The Hill is reporting that Coleman, already facing strong opposition from a revitalized state Democratic Party, will now have to contend with a far right kook who will scream bloody murder when Coleman tries appealing, even tentatively, to moderates.
And what makes it all the more galling is that the far right kook, Joe Repya, used to work for Coleman! All he wanted was to be head of the state GOP. But he was defeated last week, 195-150. So he looked around and decided to make Coleman's life a living hell instead.
Yesterday, in a statement, Repya confirmed that he is mulling a run. He said he will travel around the state and talk to people about the viability of a bid during the next two months.
“I’ve received numerous calls and have been approached by a number of people who have asked me to consider running against Norm Coleman for U.S. Senate,” Repya said.
Repya is a rabid pro-war maniac who would have exactly zero chance in a general election. But he could definitely cause Coleman some problems in the primary where there are plenty of psychos who can't wait to teach him a lesson for supporting Bush by voting for "amnesty" on the one hand, while not supporting Bush enough by voting for some tiny insignificant thing once or twice that the extremists wanted or didn't want.

His brother got in trouble and it looked like foreigners not understanding that passport law or who makes the law.
Repya?
Howie,
I was wondering if you could help me out with the Norm Coleman Weasel Meter? I'm about it when it comes to oppo research on Norm so far. I'm just guessing that you might know some people who might have some smack on Norm. You can contact me through mnblue.
Thanks and I'm definitely a fan of your writing just in case flattery might help.
