WHY DO FAR RIGHT WINGNUTS THINK MITT ROMNEY IS A GRAVE, GRAVE DANGER TO AMERICA?

>

A few days ago a self-admitted dittohead and religionist loon who goes by the name Stavros333 posted a YouTube clip saying he'd vote for Hillary Clinton before voting for Mitt Romney. He's taken it down now but he still has his anti-Romney screeds-- which are basically anti-Mormon screeds-- up on his site. This stuff is so over the top that it could almost be a Romney black operations stunt. Here's one from Friday he has aimed directly at his hero Rush Limbaugh. He calls Romney a "devil in sheep's clothing... one of the most dangerous men in America" Evangelicals I know have the same feeling about Mormons.

Some people think Romney is as loony as Stavros. He seems to have trouble distinguishing reality from fiction. We had a hint of trouble last week when he was babbling about some third rate Scientology book, Battlefield Earth being his favorite novel. Today's Time points out something even scarier. You may have read how when Romney visited Regent's "University" last week he claimed-- falsely-- "in France, for instance, I'm told that marriage is now frequently contracted in seven-year terms where either party may move on when their term is up. How shallow and how different from the Europe of the past." He didn't make this up. Another crazy Mormon lunatic, Orson Scott Card, did. The Memory of Earth is a fictionalized (more fictionalized?) version of the Book of Mormon set in outer space. Who cares what some kook writes in another fictional story about the Mormon cult for aliens from another planet? No one-- unless the nominee of a supposedly mainstream political party is confusing it with reality. Not that many Republicans are buying into Romney anyway. He's just the crazy Mormon satanist to most of the GOP hard core and he isn't even in the top 3 now.

Did you watch Countdown tonight and see Mitt roll out his promise to veto non-defense discretionary budget increases exceeding inflation minus 1%? This is an old Republican sleight of hand -- the only part of the government they want to drown in the bathtub is the non-defense part. Their mentality is that defense spending is off-the-books. All of the Dem candidates need to call them on it, and point out how Mitt's demonstrating the same mentality that brought us missing bricks of $100 bills in Iraq and the other lovely accounting scandals that will be the hallmark of the Bush years.
