ALL REPUBLICANS TO FILIBUSTER WARNER ANTI-ESCALATION BILL-- INCLUDING WARNER!

>

Saturday morning... slow news day? Same mindnumbing IQ-killing crap on CNN... Wait!... what's this: REPUBICANS PLAN TO BLOCK IRAQ DEBATE in the New York Times and this: WARNER TO HELP BLOCK HIS OWN RESOLUTION ON IRAQ in the Moonie Times?

Rove and Cheney have been plotting this all along-- no anti-Iraq resolution in the Senate. They don't even want a debate-- not even on the nonbinding, symbolic compromise thing! And they have Mitch "My Bitch" McConnell to carry out their wishes. Late yesterday, in a parliamentary move to prevent a discussion of Bush's escalation plans, McConnell said that the Republicans "would unite to block Senate debate next week on a bipartisan resolution opposing President Bush’s troop buildup in Iraq unless the Democrats allowed votes on at least two Republican alternatives." So while neocon a-hole Bill Kristol slices, dices and bemoans the "terrible ignominy" of 5 Republicans voting for the very mild nonbinding Warner-Levin anti-escalation resolution-- supported by something like 70% of Americans-- Mitch "My Bitch" announces that even Warner would support the GOP filibuster of his own resolution. He claims the 4 other Republicans who are in favor of it (Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Gordon flippity-floppity Smith and Chuck Hagel) are also filibustering it.

Lieberman and the rest of the Bush Regime kiss ass Repugs have "been squeamish about Mr. Reid’s decision to debate the Iraq policy in the form of legislation, which would be sent to the president if passed as such. They see such a move as overly confrontational, even though Mr. Reid has said the Senate will ultimately convert the proposal to a resolution to avoid having to send it to the White House." Men and women are dying while these people play their political word games.

Cheney and Rove have had their rubber stamp little senators screeching for 6 years about "up or down" votes on Bush's neo-Nazi and KKK judicial nominees but when it comes to an open debate on his policies in Iraq-- a debate demanded by the American people: no way, Jose. Reid pointed out that the rubber stamp GOP leadership was "essentially filibustering a debate of Iraq policy to avoid a judgment" on Bush and his rogue Regime. "This obstruction is an abdication of their responsibility to the American people on the most important issue facing our nation today... The American people deserve better than a filibuster on the
president's flawed plan. Senate Democrats will continue to negotiate with the Republican leadership to bring the plan to a vote."

The American people are coming out of their lethargy and recognizing how Bush and the Republicans have dragged us into this war with their web of lies and deceptions. Let them watch the Senate get tied up for days?... weeks? while the GOP refuses to allow a debate on the subject. American voters spoke clearly in November-- just a dozen weeks ago-- about how Bush was running the country. Next year every House member is up for re-election, the GOP will run one of their stay the course presidential candidates and 21 Republican senators' terms expire. Many of those Republicans feel they are immune from scrutiny and that the voters back home will be as faithful in rubber stamping them as they have been in rubber stamping the Bush Regime's hideous agenda. That may be the case in Alabama and Idaho and Wyoming but people across the country need to focus their anger and frustration on Republican senators who can be defeated: John Sununu (NH), Susan Collins (ME), Norm Coleman (MN), Gordon Flippity Floppity Smith (OR), John Warner (VA), Lindsey Graham (SC), Pete Domenici (NM), Elizabeth Dole (NC)... perhaps even red state extremists like John Cornyn (TX), James Inhofe (OK), Lamar Alexander (TN), Thad Cochran (MS), Saxby Chamberpot (GA), Ted Stevens (AK), and even Mitch "My Bitch" (KY) herself.

Can we push them into the fillabuster corner they cowered Dems into?

This kind of crap irritates me to no end. It is like dealing with a 3 year old in a busy mall who is having a tantrum. That is the calliber of these supposed lawmakers.

It is disgusting.
