LIEBERWHORE MOVES ONE STEP CLOSER TO PUBLICLY ADMITTING HE'S NOTHING BUT A REPUBLICAN

No one who reads DWT-- or even looks at the pictures-- doesn't already know that Joe Lieberman is a Republican-- if not by where he sits, then by how he behaves in the Senate. And today he went one step closer to starting to sit where he votes. The New Haven Independent reported today that Duplicitous Joe withdrew his endorsements from Diane Farrell, Joe Courtney and Chris Murphy, the 3 Democratic challengers to Bush rubber stamps, Chris Shays, Rob Simmons and Nancy Johnson.
"Declaring himself a 'non-combatant,' U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman, in remarks at a New Haven press event Friday, raised anew the question of whether his 'independent' candidacy will help Republicans hold onto three Congressional seats in Connecticut-- and control of the U.S. House of Representatives." One of the most despised, selfish and egocentric pols in the Senate, Lieberman said "I am not going to be involved in other campaigns. I think it's better if I just focus on my own race."
Support among CT Democrats for Lieberman has practically vanished in the 2 weeks since the primary and he is now getting nearly all of his support from Republicans. A half dozen reactionary corporate whores on the Democratic side of the aisle-- Mary Landrieu, Ken Salazar, Tom Carper, Mark Pryor and, of course, closet Republican Ben Nelson-- are supporting Lieberman.

Remember, even if the Liebermonster manages to drag his own personal carcass back to the Senate come January, if even ONE house of Congress switches party control, his importance is at least halved, because his only value to the Republicans is as the Democratic "sage" who gives them the illusion of bipartisan cover.
God help him, if BOTH houses switch out of Republican control, he turns back into the turd he's always been.

To paraphrase my favorite line from "Support your local sheriff", thinking about Joe just makes me tired all over. The man has been such a disappointment for so long. Every time I see him or hear his voice or even think about him I just get this wierd feeling that we're seeing the destruction of a man that has long outlived his usefulness. There may have been a time when he served his constituents but not any longer. Now he's jeoperdizing this country's only chance to deal with Bush before it's too late.
Without the House, which is where he's likely to impact because of the effect on Conn. House races, there is no impeachment. And I don't give a shit what the Right says to scare voters, Impeachment is where we ultimately have to go.
The crimes of George Bush can not be allowed to stand. If he's not punished then the next strong man President will take us where Bush wanted to take us but failed. This election is no less important than that. We must as a movement do what we can to prevent any of the detraction that have plaged us in the past from effecting this election.
Joe is just that kind of distraction. The leaders of this party must find a way to get him out of the race and supporting Dems.
