Yo, Beck, you're lucky we don't just throw you in a pot and eat you!

When a bully meets a bully: Dirty Harry tortures the already-shot Scorpio.

by Noah

I live in New York. I don’t love it, but sometimes it has a way of jumping up and biting its dirtbags in the ass. Maybe it’s the rats on the subway platforms that set the tone. In any event, Glenn Beck’s Romper Room TV show for asylum escapees ends Thursday after damaging this country for years. So it’s time for him to go back to his hole. As evidence, I point to a little tale of Beck’s recent night out at the movies. Glenn, you dish it out, but you can’t take it when you’re treated in kind.

Glenn Beck’s Wife Attacked in NYC Park

Glenn Beck says his family was accosted while watching a movie in a New York City park Monday night. On his radio show and his website today, Beck described the incident and said an angry moviegoer kicked a glass of wine onto his wife Tania’s back, and as she got up to walk away, a man shouted: “We hate conservatives here.”

“We didn’t leave. My staff this morning said: ‘Why didn’t you leave right away.’ That was uncomfortable,” Beck said, as he described the incident, which occurred while he and his family were watching a screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s “The 39 Steps” in New York’s Bryant Park. “I said because I have a right to watch a movie and enjoy a movie with my family in the park. I have a right.”

Beck said while he doesn’t expect “a warm welcome in New York City,” what bothered him “was the cowardly behavior of the hateful crowd,” he wrote on his website, glennbeck.com. . . .

Hate-mongering psychopathic goonie Beck has no problem dishing out his brand of hate-filled crazy, including finding socialism everywhere and telling his head-case viewers to get guns while he points at a picture of the president, but when some New Yorkers get rude and obnoxious with him and his family at a showing of The 39 Steps in New York’s Bryant Park on a warm summer evening, that’s a different story.

After a brusque New Yorker told Beck, “We hate conservatives here,” and someone supposedly splashed his wife (he has a wife??!!??) with some wine, he and his family stayed to watch the movie anyway, rightly believing, as Beck said, “I have a right to watch a movie.” That was good. He showed he could take a punch. It was almost even mature.

Ah, but then came the crying foul the next day as he, now at a safe distance, termed the nasty actions of a few “the cowardly behavior of a hateful crowd” and whined about “mob mentality.” Really, Glenn? You’ve made millions creating and inciting mobs both in person and on the radio and TV, but when a natural reaction to your efforts bounces back at you, you don’t stop to even wonder why? Instead you pull out your well-worn victim card and turn on the tears? Yeah, you were treated wrongly, but you haven’t considered the consequences of your years of sociopathic actions. Do ya feel lucky? You got off easy. Your whining about your rights and the whole incident reminds me of the scene from Dirty Harry where Harry chases Scorpio onto a football field and shoots him in the leg, then tortures him for information.

Sigh. What’s a bully to do when he meets up with another bully?

Good riddance, Glenn! I know, though, that you’ll still be around in some festering form. After all, it takes years to clean up a river. Let the decontamination begin, asap.

POSTSCRIPT: What actually happened in Bryant Park?

Commenters raise the excellent question of what actually happened during the Bryant Park screening of The 39 Steps, with some useful sources. I thought the question of what (if anything) happened to our Glenn and Mrs. Glenn was implicit in Noah's use of Newsmax as a "source."

Of course it's possible that our Glenn and Mrs. Glenn are people of such exquisitely genteel breeding that where they come from not a drop of wine has ever been spilled at an outdoor movie showing. Newsmax ace investigative reporter Reisner also doesn't seem to have thought to mention -- possibly because he seems to have been simply transcribing what our Glenn said, just the way all your quality journalists do their reporting -- that our Glenn and Mrs. Glenn were accompanied by their own security detail, which prompts several sorts of speculation on the specifics of what if anything actually happened.

(Personally, I was most proud of the Newsmax screen grab that enables us to see sage of sages Judy "Scoop" Miller marshaling her vast reservoir of inside knowledge and confidential sources into the blinding revelation: "Gadhafi Won't Leave Libya Anytime Soon." How does she keep coming up with these scoops?)

I doubt the story's even true. Maybe some accidentally spilled wine, but I doubt even that. A liar's a liar.

Hi Anon, That Beck lied is very possible and I did consider the possibility that the whole thing was just a fabrication sprung from the obviously disturbed mind of Glenn Beck. Who knows? Maybe he even believes it. He does, after all live in a world of near complete fantasy. His whole catalog of sicko ravings is wrought from his over-active nihilistic imaginations of enemies and victimization. It's worked for him and the Repug Party but it has rotted a lot of pliable minds who, if he told them to, would drink cyanide-laced grape juice. If Jim Jones had had FOX, that's where he would have found a welcoming home there and would not have ever had to go to Guyana.

The same is true very recently of Sarah Palin, who went to a showing of the film about her and heard, allegedly for the first time, lots of vitriol thrown at her by various celebrities. She wondered afterwards what "their problem is" and wanted to ask them how they could be so hate-filled, etc. Same old thing. I think both Beck and Palin need to turn the questions they ask on themselves and answer them. Then maybe we can talk.

An account from others who were there gives a version you would expect, it was all exaggerated. He had a security detail with him, fer chrissakes. Even within his own version of events, Beck proves just why he deserves the hatred he gets. In his telling, he becomes the victim of a "lynching." This doughy white guy who travels with security in a public place in Manhattan in his mind believes he is the equivalent of victim of the terror killings of African-Americans. I only wish that this vile person could experience a fraction the terror of the victims he compares himself to. Not that it would change him in the least, he's hopelessly self-deluded, but just because I'd enjoy seeing him actually suffer.
