Not All Democrats Are The Same-- And Not All Democrats Are Like Elizabeth Warren

>

I live in America but I work with a bunch of different groups-- but good ones-- that are located Inside the Beltway (one of the power centers of the 1%). If we're going to make the country fairer we need to do it politically and that means dealing with Washington and dealing with politics. One of these DC-based groups sent around an e-mail asking for a vote to make a contribution to Sheldon Whitehouse's reelection campaign. I just couldn't swallow it. Whitehouse (D-RI) appears to be one of the most progressive senators-- and consistently so-- we have. His ProgressivePunch score on crucial issues always has him in the top 10, usually in the top half dozen-- better than Boxer, Lautenberg, Leahy... That's good. Last week, however, he crossed the aisle and voted with GOP fascists for unlimited detention of suspected terrorists, including American citizens. Obama is unlikely to abuse that but what about some future right-wing psychopath? What about President Gingrich or President Perry or-- who knows, no one took Hitler seriously either-- President Bachmann? I wrote to the other board members and asked them to read the post about it from last week and we unanimously decided to move on from Senator Whitehouse, at least for the time being.

The same group, unanimously did something else-- endorsed Elizabeth Warren. Blue America has endorsed her as well-- and there are only three people we've endorsed for Senate this year, her, Tammy Baldwin and Bernie Sanders, all proven entities who do not disappoint.

As Elizabeth says, "America faces a choice: We can be a country that focuses on rewarding big banks and big corporations that have already made it, or we can be a country where hard work and opportunity help middle class families get ahead and build a solid future." This woman is running for Senate because she believes it's time Washington worked for hard-working middle class families, creating opportunity to help them get ahead. Judging by the thousands of people across Massachusetts who packed community centers and school gyms during our recent volunteer meetings, she has a lot of company. The video above is from one of those sessions, this one in Boston. Please take a look and see if you think it merits a $5 or $10 contribution to a grassroots campaign to replace Wall Street's favorite senator. You can do that right here on the Blue America Senate page. And don't he shy about Tammy and Bernie too if you get in the mood. Scott Brown is likely to be the best-funded Wall Street Senate candidate in history. But the latest polls show Elizabeth beating him. He won't have any problem getting the avaricious banksters to fund more and more ugly ads against Elizabeth. But we can win this-- all of us, the 99% against the self-entitled 1%.

UPDATE: New Polling

A new poll shows Elizabeth Warren with momentum and a significant lead over Brown. She now leads Wall Street's favorite senator 49-42%.
