Keith Olbermann Puts Into Words What's Making Progressives... Uncomfortable

>

Obama has proven himself another corporate shill whose idea of Change turned out to be replacing Karl Rove with Rahm Emanuel; his idea of Hope was that no would would notice that only the names and faces have changed-- nothing else. We've been had! The healthcare reform bill is an abomination that doesn't seem worth saving. In fact, its a disaster in the making and really should be killed. [Presumably, Bernie Sanders will rise above the partisan din and do just that.] Olbermann pointed out that Liebermann is a " senatorial prostitute... bought and sold by the insurance industry." Without going there, he makes it obvious that the anti-democratic Senate has lost not just any moral authority but any semblance of relevance.

Does Obama have what it takes to pull himself out of this and lead? There is not a thing in his history to make anyone believe he would, let alone could. "The line between compromise and compromised is an incredibly fine one." He isn't FDR when we need an FDR and he isn't Howard Dean... who will be around in 2012-- and who has a vision well beyond just tiptoeing around the status quo holding hands with Rahm Emanuel and Lawrence Summers.

I thought it was great. Not that Obama or Reid will pay it one bit of attention; after all, it's far more important to alienate your base, than pass important reform legislation. But still, somebody had to say this, and openly, too.

Do they have any idea how pissed off we are? And how we feel fucked over by the very people we elect?

I think its time to think about a real third party. With Howard Dean in charge.
Our government is broken

It might be better to start local then go statewide, as the Teabagger dimwits have. Build a grassroots political network like the one that jumped at Obama's Pavlovian use of the words Hope and Change. Get that going strongly, before jumping to the federal level.

Unfortunately, that still means quite a while of getting suckered by the likes of King Log and King Stork. But it could work, if the preparation was solid.

Grayson/Dean looks very good from my point of view.

Would any of this have happened if Teddy were there?
